In fairness, those gators can be reeeeeally scary.

According to the Naples Daily News, Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig was arrested Saturday morning in Florida on a charge of reckless driving.
Puig's 2013 Mercedes was clocked speeding through the Alligator Alley section of I-75 at 110 mph in a 70 mph zone. As you recall, Puig had a similar incident in Tennessee in April, though those charges were eventually dismissed. While the 23-year-old Cuban defector is immensely talented, he needs to learn how to handle himself off the field or he could risk derailing his promising career. Dec 28 - 5:57 PM

I used to think when I read these type's of stories, that these athletes/celebrities shouldn't be going that fast in those types of area..

but now that I have my Cadillac CTS.. it's so easy to go those speeds and you don't even feel like it due to the construction of the high end cars..

I haven't gone 110, but I did a quick pass of some cars and I looked down, and I was doing 95...

I have talked with others about this same thing as they have new high end cars as well and they agree, it's so easy to speed in these newer high end cars..

Or a newly rich 23 year old being a "kid". Fame and riches coming quickly at a young age can be a tough thing to handle I would suspect.

I must have a speed regulator in my truck (2011 F150). I tried to get it over 100 on a recent road trip, on a wide open straight stretch of highway (even a slight downhill incline) in the middle of nothing just to see it on the speedo, and it wouldn't. Yet my speedo shows 120!
Pinbreaker - this was 90, but much further east.

I went to bowl the ABC Tournament down in Albuquerque and I had a rental.. We went to drive down to Santa Fe.. I was doing 80 and had an old woman ride my ass.. I got over and she was probably 70 years old flipping me off as she flew by me..
Up here, we don't have those types of roads where you can go that fast, so we don't understand why someone would go that fast.. but other parts of the country where it's flat as hell.. they do..

Who cares? I'm sure the majority of the people on this board have gotten a speeding ticket or gone 100 before. I could care less if Puig got a ticket (apparently this was just a ticket and not actually arrested and put in jail).

This isn't news.

I do not speed, and have never gotten a speeding ticket. There is no way you ever need to go that fast. Thats what the speed limit is for...The only reason I go past the speed limit is to pass someone.

My top road speed is right around 145. My aunt had bought a new Vette and really liked to let people drive it and encouraged people to open it up. Had I been on I-90 for this, I would have gone faster. It was a blast! I was trying to hit 150, but was running out of straight road. This was somewhere in the rural area of Walla Walla, but too many small hills and turns to really open it up. I also had the thought in the back of my mind that this is possibly "go to jail" speed, not just speeding ticket speed.

You just contradicted yourself. you do not speed but the only reason you speed is to pass someone.

I understand what your saying but then you can't say you don't speed because you do when you want to pass someone.

 Nice try Biggio.

Is this because your parents would take the care away from you? ;)

Passing someone is not speeding, if you sped up a lil bit, pass them, then go back to the speed limit. I am sure no cop with give you a ticket for passing someone.

if youre going over the speed limit it is speeding.

On that note Puig is one of the few MLBers i cant stand. Hopefully he doesnt kill someone acting like a fool.
