Okay, so yesterday I am watching this game, and it's a good game so far. Low scoring, soem great plays, just a fun game to watch.

Then there are a few walks, and Albert Pujol5 strolls to the plate with the bases loaded.

Then BAM! Slamalamadingdong!! (I wish Joe Buck was calling the game yesterday)

Geo Soto just stands up and throws his hands up in the air in disgust and turns away. As soon as the ball comes off the bat I go bat **** crazy in my living room knowing it was gone and the Cardinals just padded their lead and Pujol5 went over 1000 career RBI's, which I was hoping happened yesterday.

I initially missed where the ball landed because I was acting like a retard going nuts in my living room and laughing at stupid Cubs fans.

Then I seen the replay and where the ball landed. If you guys have never been to Busch Stadium, you REALLY have no idea how far he really hit that ball. It was an announced distance of 441, but damn, it seemed so much farther than that. Not because of the situation, or awesomeness of it, but it looked to me like it hit the Standing Room Only section behind the bleachers. Believe me, I have stood exactly where that ball was hit, and can barely see home plate.

Then my cell phone totally starts blowing up with people asking me if I seen it, if the ball went out of the park, some telling me they hate the Cardinals, etc. I was so freaking excited. That one swing made my day.

On National television (I know the majority of the USA got the Yankees/Sux game, but I digress), Albert Pujol5 just put the baseball world on notice. If people weren't convinced that he is the best overall complete player in the game of baseball, maybe all of sports, they know now.

Albert Pujol5 showed Aramis Ramirez what a home run REALLY looks like. No cheap home runs in Busch Stadium. Unlike that juice box they play in at Chicago. If Pujol5 played in Wrigley, he'd be hitting the buildings across the street frequently, with that wind, and his power, and that the outfield wall is only like 13 feet from the infield.

Can we give the guy his MVP trophey already?

And how about Motte picking Gathwright(sp?) off first with an awesome throw? That was sweetness.

Everyone was talking about this home run at the bar last night. Nobody could believe it.

But me, I have come to expect those type of things from El Hombre. I wasn't so much impressed after the fact that he hit a grand slam, but I was really impressed with where the ball ended up. Because that is redonkulous far in Busch Stadium.

I just haven't figured it out yet.........is Albert Pujol5 God, or is he really a machine??

You know it's something special when there are several people just standing around talking about it for several hours.

Everyone I know kept bringing up one point though, and that was the hilarity of Geo Soto's reaction. That was as priceless as the home run.

You know, I am a Cardinals fan and all, but if I were the Cubs, I would bean the **** out of Pujol5 today.

Man I really have nothing to say, other then I have to tip my hat to Phat Albert.
I have yet to see the homerun on any repaly, well maybe it better I don't.

Cards are going to sweep the Cubs today. Man it is going to be a sad day indeed. :(

You seen it Sam? How many times did you seen it?

Not a good start to the season. We need a Lou meltdown today.

i was driving to a side job listening to it on good ol' 720am (since the white sox were temporarily delayed from rain) and hughes was just saying "oh boy bases loaded with pujols coming to bat". of course i just crossed my fingers hoping for at least a bases clearing double but then you just hear ron santo with his usual "oh jeez...come on" rants and i knew it was murdered! all hughes could say was that it was totally rocked somewhere over the bullpen. i just couldnt wait to see for myself!! :)

I envision it going something like this:

Skip: You guys. You lollygag the ball around the infield. You lollygag your way down to first. You lollygag in and out of the dugout. You know what that makes you? Larry!
Larry: Lollygaggers!
Skip: Lollygaggers. This is a simple game, you throw the ball, you hit the ball, you catch the ball, YOU GOT IT!

Sure, I want both teams to lose at all times, but since that wasn't an option today, i gotta say; Soto's quasi-unprofessional reaction immediately after the ball was struck might have been the funniest thing I've seen in baseball this year.

Or because he was calling for the ball down and away and Patton through a 40ish mile an hour fastball right in Pujols's wheel house.....hell it might as well have been a softball underhand pitch......

Not taking anything away from Pujols, as I love the man, but Marc Bulger could have hit that thing 500 ft.

Its good to see that the yearly melt down of the Cubs is happening early this year...

Am I missing something with the 5? Or is your S key broken?

It's a stupid name he is giving him to make himself seem creative. Pujols is #5, so I guess he thinks it's clever that he made it "Pujol5".

It's a nickname. Pujols wears Number 5. 5 looks somewhat similar to a S.

Some people aren't clever enough to realize Pujols wears number 5 and a 5 is similar to an S.

Well slap me and call me Suzie.

I like Joe Buck. He was great when he did the TV for the Cardinals. He quit doing it last season. He is a lot more entertaining doing the Cardinals games, and I miss him. Dan McLaughlin is okay, but Joe made the FSN Midwest games funner in my opinion.

If you are going to talk smack, at least do you homework first.
You need to get your facts straight when it comes to the ballparks.
Wrigley Field is 355 (LF) 400 (C) 353 (RF)
Busch Stadium 336 (LF) 400 (C) 335 (RF)

So technically speaking your new stadium is a much smaller juice box than ours!
Your stadium was built with Pujols in mind, which is fine, I would have done the same thing, but feel free to quit using the field dimensions in your arguments.

LOL, about the only field arguments one could make between Busch and Wrigley is that good old Chicago "WINDY CITY" breeze wreaking havoc on high fly balls.....

Depends on which way the wind is blowing. If it's blowing in, it is the hardest place to hit a home run, so it goes both ways.
I am not trying to dissprove Pujols as being phenomenal, I am just stating facts about dimensions of the fields.
