I'll do the math for you all....Pujols was 23 for 101 in September/Oct that is a batting average of .227 1 for 10 against

Anyone here think that is worth big money?

Kevin

I know you're a troll and I shouldn't be crossing your bridge but your calculator is broken. Last Sept/Oct, Pujols batted: .293/.433/.586 (1.019). Yes, he was 1-for-10 in a 3 game series against the Reds from Sept 4-6. The one hit was a HR and the Cards took two of three.

I heard that he wants to go to the Brewers when Fielder leaves. Also Fielder might go to the Cardinals then. Oh that is right, I was dreaming that.

I used to read your posts and figured you were just a blow hard that liked to be argumentative. Then I thought maybe you were just a high functioning autistic or perhaps mildly retarded. Now I’ve determined that you’re pretty much just worthless as a human being.

Every great player that has ever played has had an occasional bad series. Look at the numbers overall you waste of oxygen.

Here is the great part. If you’ve paid attention to the mods on this board and especially cgilmo, they care about this site and the traffic it takes in. Once they realize that you, and others like you, are causing people to stop posting and patronize other sites (which you are) they are going to permanently ban your antagonistic ass.

23 for 101 is not .293 its .227. Too bad for Pujols you aren't writing his next contract, he might be signed by now.

but why do you miss my point?? Im not saying Pujols isn't great, he is, but you can't ignore the numbers. Pujols has
not finished strong the past two years. Were we not here in the begining of September talking about he had the
MVP all wrapped up? I was simply saying that maybe the Cards are hesitant because he is weak down the stretch when
usually big time players florish. I don't expect a cards fan to see that through your rose colored glasses.

and I have never attacked anyone here personally like you think you must. You don't like my posts fine, but calling

You're right, 23-for-101 is not .293 (it's actually .228) but the problem is, Pujols didn't go 23-for-101 last Sept/Oct. He was 29-for-99 hence the .293/.433/.586 (1.019) line.

There's so much low hanging fruit in your posts, it's almost unbelievable.

that doesn't change the fact that Pujols folds like a tent down the stretch. Like I said, if he was worth the money
like Cliff Lee or Votto, he would of already been signed.

LOL or they are negotiating, plus how is Lee worth the money? He is in his 30s and has always been overrated. Glad you didn't say Howard was worth the money because the picture I had earlier shows how clutch he is.

I'm really confused about the vitriol for Pujols in big-time situations, down-the-stretch, etc.:

Career Splits (BA/OBP/SLG/OPS):

2nd Half of season: .339/.430/.633/1.063 (better than his first 1st halves)

Sept/Oct: .338/.439/.610/1.049

RISP: .345/.486/.672/1.158

2 outs, RISP: .324/.525/.649/1.174

Late & Close: .313/.450/.588/1.038 (defined as PA in the 7th or later with the batting team tied, ahead by one, or the tying run at least on deck)

High Leverage: .352/.458/.672/1.130 (better than medium and low leverage)

Innings 7-9: .321/.433/.598/1.031

Or what about these September games (against teams over .500) from 2008-2010?

Currently 3 years and about $80 million apart.

Pujols: 10/275
Cardinals: 7/196

If he really wants(or thinks he will get) 10 years, then trade him. I love the guy, but his best years are behind him. He is still great and will be great for a few years, but 10 years is stupid.

DeWitt already said there was no chance of a 10 year contract.

I agree with DeWitt. Pujols can have a record yearly amount, but he won't be getting it at ages 39, 40, and 41...

all this is just publicity. It gets people talking and looking at there team. Just look what the yanks did with jeter. Got them a lot of talk and now Pujols/Cardnals has there turn. Just look at this thread alone. Everyone talking about the Cardinals and Pujols. What better publicity? They prob already have a contract up and ready. IT will be stupid if thy loose him.
