I always thought that 213/ looked too shaky. I'm not an expert on these at all. Just relaying info I've seen. I'll add 'possibly real' to my post.

Bumping this one more time so more people see it. If anyone has a blog and is willing to share the link so more people become aware that would be great.

From the info here this auction: PSA 9 Fleer Legacy Pujols appears to have 1 fake (#548) and 1 real (#94).

Then there's This auction which is way to high btw, that appears to have a Spence authentic that is real and he's throwing in another that is not. He also links topnotchsy's link in his auction.

Has anyone ever seen one graded ~pre 2003.

LOL, I have seen them get denied.....the problem is that before these were known to getting faked, PSA especially, graded a few of them, which led collectors to believe they were authentic, which only fueled the fire even more.....

Very uncertain how many real ones there actually are out there, but I would guess it is probably around 100 or less. I am by no means a complete expert, but I can 99% of the time tell right away if the Pujols AUTO is real or not, but if I didnt collect him I am sure I could be easily fooled.

I believe the number that was thrown around a few years ago was 65 copies or so.

I can see from the images of the authentic auto's that they all pretty much all match up. I truly wish the following card did truly match up with those authentic auto's.

I would love to add this particular card to my collection.

Thank you,

Got mine back from BGS/JSA this weekend. I originally tried to submit directly to BGS, but they told me I had to send it to JSA first. I was pretty upset there was no language on the website for this policy and they graded two fake ones 2 days before my submission was due without JSA authentication. It was about a three week turnaround (with July 4th), but I'm pretty happy.

Here is another fake that is consistent with the fake auto's on the 01 Fleer Legacy cards. I cannot find where to report the auction, but that is 100% guaranteed fake.

The cards that have the autographs authenticated by JSA or PSA do not qualify the card's "rookie" notation any further...simply their perception of the autograph.

With two equal signed copies next to each other...one original redeemed card signed in 2001, one Fleer auction card signed in 2005...both have legitimate autographs, but are very different.

This card is a true shame, all across the board.

As the years go one if there is one Pujols rookie to plummet, it is this one.

It's pretty easy to tell which ones were redeemed in 2001 and which are fake. Are you suggesting that some of the auction ones were signed by Albert himself (whenever they were purchased), making them authentic autos but not true RC autos and more of a buyback?

Question...

I am looking a couple of the Pujols Fleer Legacy Auto's. I was wondering if you would recommend that they are sent to JSA/Beckett to be approved before completing the purchase?

This is why this particular card will never be in my collection. A great card gets ruined.

Nice article here, filling in some info that my eBay article did not have.

There was a real one that sold a few days ago and went really cheap. If I had had funds I would have really considered placing a bid.

it ended at a real weird time. The problem with these us they are so hard to sell at a good price because everyone us afraid of fakes.

Everyone has done such a great job on identifying the fakes... there are still a few that I wish I knew for certain were either fake or real.

I think I will see if the person who is looking to sell the card I am interested in purchasing if they will send it through the JSA/BGS process.

Thank you,

Shoot me and email and I'll try to help. I have 75-100 images of these stored so. I may be able to get a match. As I mentioned in my article, it cost me $50 to get mine authenticated.
