If Beckett truly wants to be "Leading Source of Hobby Information", this is unacceptable. Either Beckett does not know about the controversy or Beckett is not doing its duty by providing its readership with accurate information. To the best of my knowledge, Beckett has never acknowledged this problem anywhere. For any card, let alone a card that is usually on its hot list, shouldn't it report on this? Even worse, perhaps the reason it has not reported on this card is because it does not know about it. To me, this is just another reason why Beckett is becoming less and less relevant in this hobby.

The best part is that the scan in the hot list pic looks like one of the fakes. ::facepalm::

It is, that's why he pointed that out. Great example of the effort Beckett puts into its magazine.

Thought people would be interested in a new post I wrote on this card. Some of the results surprised me.

Great job with this!! (I will take credit for the initial initiative though :) )

One question though. In the article you wrote:

Projecting my findings out to the whole print run, it appears that the unsigned version is just as scarce as the authentic signed version. (Here is my tracking sheet)
I think this is inaccurate. The cards are numbered to 799. Of the original 799, any of the unsigned copies that had the sticker for the exchange was pulled off the market when they were sent to Fleer. This means that if there are only 100 or fewer authentic ones (as has been assumed) then there are still 699 unsigned Pujols Legacy RC's.

The fact that later Fleer released the prototypes for the autograph versions should in no way affect how many unsigned copies are out there.

Based on this I think the idea you've posed based on this aspect of your research is flawed. If I am wrong please point out what I am missing.

I realized that same conclusion after I posted, but my reasoning was a little different. Most of the authentic copies I've tracked are in personal collections and haven't been from eBay whereas most of the unsigned copies were from eBay.
