There used to be but it died pretty quickly. I think Dunn was the only sufferer of it. The Madden curse however is real.

It's not just Madden. Remember the Danny Heatly NHL cover they had to pull and replace with Forsberg after his accident?

I remember that, but wasn't it Joe Sakic that replaced the Dany Heatley cover? Happened in 10' with Pat Kane on the cover. He got in "trouble" with the Cab driver. Then in 09 Dion Phaneuf was on the cover and that year he was very disappointing and most people said it was his worst season to date. His play went down hill so much that the Flames even traded him away this year.
