hard to tell from the scan (+ some pujols autos DO look like that), but pujols autos (bc, fleer) from 01 are well known to have been 'retouched' (what leatherman said), renumbered, and in the case of fleer, autos being applied to cards that were NOT intended to be autoed...and yes, some of the fakes have ended up in slabs.

hard to say 'if the seller lives in, question the card' b/c @ this pt, those cards have likely changed hands so many x that it's really hard to tell. having it slabbed by psa offers some comfort, but as we all know, all grading cos. have had some 'questions' arise re the accuracy of their slabbing/ability to detect fakes.

if it were me, i'd prob buy the card if you want it + it's a fair price, but i'd also have it reviewed by bgs.

I was looking at that same card and thought the auto looked sketchy.

I used to own a beauty (redeemed it myself) and i regret selling it to this day. The auto didn't look like that.
