I won an auction last week for a Rivera minor league card, and here is what shows up in my mailbox this week.

It is not a high end card but I was kinda disappointed, I had paid $3.00 shipping and the seller still mailed the card in a PWE. Yes, he shipped a BGS graded card in a PWE!

Is it too much to ask for a refund since there is no damage to the card? Does the appearance of the case really affect the value? I guess I can just glue the top to the case back and overlook the cracks on the back, it is going in my PC anyway.

wow, i can't believe someone shipped a BGS in a PWE. I almost understand it sometimes when its a $1 card but you are lucky the card didnt fall out of the envelope somewhere along the way.

You bought the card graded, and you received it with huge damage to the slab. You have every right to ask for a refund.

I would ask for a refund on the shipping price and the cost to have it reslabbed.

The value of the card is almost 100% in the value of the holder.

The seller is a donkey for shipping in a PWE. If possible, see if you can mail a kick in the crotch via a PWE.

If it was my card, I would crack it out of the case and call it a day. I never leave anything encased if it's under a nine, unless it's a condition sensitive set.

I just checked the guy's current listings and fortunately he has a second copy available! I will see if I can have mine replaced.

If not, I'll be happy with him refunding the $3.00 shipping as P_Manning/Moxacaine suggested. I paid $4.04 with shipping for the card, so I'll probably keep it as an unslabbed card if he ends up refunds the shipping. I know where you guys are coming from, but I don't think it's fair to ask for the cost to re-grade the card especially for a low-end, non-gem card like this.

Thanks for the input guys!

I tend to be pretty laid back, it is just a hobby after all. That being said, I'd drop the hammer on this hammer. Neg them, demand a full refund, dog them to the ends of the earth out of spite. That's just pathetic and ridiculous.

Dude does deserve the works for doing that. Ask for refund and neg him, that way he may never do this again.

That's is ridiculous. Take the seller to the woodshed if he doesn't make this situation right in your opinion. What a moron for sending that way. GL
