Hi,
Do you know if any of the autos were redemptions in BDP 2005 and 2006? This might seem like a dumb question, but if Longoria and Kershaw's autos were in 06, then why do the boxes go for $70? That doesn't seem to add up unless its because of a expired redemption issue. Please help out if you know this info, thanks!

06 boxes are not that expensive because of the SOTF autos and aside from the top guys, the others are pretty much worthless. 05 had AFLAC redemptions that have all expired, yet the price is still extremely high

Thanks. Yeah the 05 auto checklist is still pretty loaded. Funny, when it came out you thought that Drew and Weaver were the best pulls. Turns out Braun was. I can't wrap my head around why Ellsbury goes for $65 but I guess thats a whole nother issue. I still might take a stab at a few 06 boxes. So you're saying that they weren't necessarily one chrome auto per box and that some boxes had Signs of the Future autos instead?

the last 3 cases of 06 draft that they broke in group breaks were absolutely terrible

if you dont get longoria or kershaw, it's going to be a terrible break

Yea, and there were some cases that had 6-8 SOTF autos and only a couple chrome

There are no autograph redemptions in either 05 or 06.

I think the 05 boxes are a bit over-priced, and the 06's are still a decent value.

The 06 box prices have remained stable because even though the Longoria and Kershaw remain valuable, alot of the secondary autos have become dirt cheap. It all balances out and as time goes on and many prospects don't come to fruition, all bowman draft boxes eventually become like upper deck boxes- all or nothing.

I still like a couple base cards out of 06, and they aren't even sleepers!

No, Upton is in 2006 Bowman Chrome Boxes (the one that he's on the cover on). Maybin's rookie is also in 2006 Bowman Chrome, though he does have a futures game card in 2006 Draft. Based on my experience with 2006 Draft (a SOTF auto of Cesar Ramos in my first box and a base chrome auto of Ronny Bourquin in my second box), I would say it isn't worth it lol. I would love to take a shot at a 2005 Draft box, but I don't want to risk 140 bucks on a SOTF auto and a couple of good base chromes.

Now imagine what that 2005 set would go for if they had Signed Upton and Maybin as autos to go along with Jay Bruce and Tulowitzki, and the Braun, Ellsbury, Stephen Drew, Ryan Zimmerman, Jered Weaver, Matt Garza, & Chris Volstad that already exist

No redemptions in06 draft. I just cracked a case 2 days ago and had ZERO SOTF autos, so it's hit or miss. Here were my autos (all but Kershaw are worthless):

Kershaw, Hickman x2, Felix x2, Bourquin x2, Wright, Matt Long Ref, Cody Johnson ref

The big problem besides getting SOTF autos as your box hit, is there are THIRTY chrome autos on the 2006 checklist

that means 2 hits against 28 misses, and you don't even get one per box because of the sotfs. That means 3 cases might not even net you one base chrome longoria or kershaw, even with perfect collation.

There in lies the problem with 06. Even if you avoid the SOTF if you dont hit a parallel or Longoria/Kershaw, you have to hope to hit every single good base card in a ref or better.
