I have been doing quite a bit of trading recently, and starting trying to get Darwin Barney and Mitch Canham cards. Not because I expect them to be huge prospects, but they sell well at local shows.

But I noticed something funny when checking out the book value.

Barney 08 Chrome

Base - 0.75
Refractor - 5.00
X-fractor - 6.00
Blue - 10.00
Gold - 25.00

Canham 08 Chrome

Base - 0.50
Refractor - 3.00
X-fractor - 4.00
Blue - 15.00
Gold - 15.00

I know they claim to list actual selling prices of cards, but how can a Blue Refractor of a player sell for less than another player, but his Gold sell for that much more?
