I have never seen this before, but what/why is there a difference in the grading in this BCCG example compare to the others that look more like a PSA holder...

So someone help me out on the casing differences. By the way, this guy was smart to do it this way, because that Mantle looks to be about a 1 or 2 BVG really and he is already up to almost $800....

BccG = VERY quick look over. There is really no actual grading done. They just look at it and give it a grade. It is NOT in a soft sleeve under there and will only get more damaged being in the holder. I have never seen a card like this graded by BccG but it has surely gotten worse since it has been in that case. Im not even sure BccG authenticates the card.

So this may be something done a while ago as a quick review, kind of like the old BGS lables maybe????

There is just a pretty good sized difference between the casing on this and the BCCG's I am used to seeing.

BCCG is very lenient on grades. Im not positive but i believe the BCCG 10's are the cards that HSN sells in those "awesome" lots you see on late night TV

You are right. No idea how this guy managed a real BGS case with a BCCG tab. Maybe you can request it and pay a little extra?
Email the auction to [email protected] and ask them.

Maybe because of the card size they didnt have actual BccG cases? Instead they went ahead and used a real BGS case with the center wall and kept with the BccG pricing?

he gots a bunch of VERY nice stuff, all in those BGS style BCCG holders.....I just found it odd when I saw the prices he is getting, I think people are going to dissapointed when they cross grade them over with BVG

Except that card appears to be in a soft sleeve.

Slabs are the same, NORMALLY there is not a soft sleeve in BCCG. they did this on this card because of the size of the card. A BCCG 6 will not fair well crossing to BVG, PSA, or SGC, perhaps a 2ish.

+1, I read that post & went back up to look at the scan (not sure if the poster even looked at the scan when they wrote that it wasn't in a soft sleeve, it's pretty clear that it is)...Oh well, we all make mistakes (No Biggie bro)! :D

Maybe it is graded that way because it is a vintage card.

Regular BGS works for modern cards, while there is a 'separate' BVG for a vintage card. Maybe there is a distinction made for BCCG graded cards as well.
