question about perez-steele postcards

was thinking about getting into the perez steele autographs....but i know absolutely nothing about them, can someone with some info about them fill me in...like how were they produced, what did they come in?? stuff like that

I wish I had more info. My understanding is that they were sold at the hall of fame.

I love them. I have a mantle, ted williams, and others. I have long thought about selling off some of my prospect stuff and really focus on the perez steele autos. I really want a koufax and dimaggio...

i have never been a fan of cut sigs and i think these are the best alternative. i paid $220 for my ted below...if it were cut up and placed into a card it would have cost 3x that :?

I also interested in it. Few questions though.

1. How did they get the players to sign it? I noticed on the back it was numbered to 1,000? Some were signed some weren't. What gives? Was it through the mail?

2. Which year is considered the best because I see different years. For those of you that collect perez-steele, do you collect by year or by personal taste? I'm very anal so if I get a Mantle 1981, the Jackie Robinson better be 1981 as well.

3. Why is it so cheap? NOT that I'm saying $250-$300 isn't expensive but if its cut signature for UD it'll be worth 1k!

I'm very NEW to the Perez-Steele but wouldn't mind adding some HOF's autos into my collection. Any answers greatly appreciated!
