Have a question, wanted to see what the board thought. Who in your opnion is the best basketball coach ever? College too, as it would be unfair to discount those great coaches.

I agree with Wooden, hands down. I also agree with Huff though that Pops is way under-rated. He gets no recognition as opposed to Phil Jackson, Larry Brown...etc.

John Wooden, followed by Dean Smith, Adolph Rupp and Bobby Knight for college.

For NBA I'd say Red Auerbach.

Auerbach, Pat Summit, and Wooden are by them selves imo.

I'm surprised there is no mention of this guy.

Great coach, but is he better than Bobby Knight, John Wooden, Pat Summit, or even Dean Smith?

Just so many choices out there.

He's not my choice. I'm just surprised his name hasn't come up.

Even if he was, I wouldnt discount it. I am just saying there are more than a handfull of elite coaches that people have to choose from.

I am a bit biased but I would put Dean Smith & John Wooden as a tie at #1 & #2
Even the most blind UNC fan should be able to admit that Wooden is the best coach in history. Not slighting Dean Smith...but come on.
