I have a Topps junker with a silver that I'm going to peal to see the difference from a UD clear...

Edit: Geez, the silver sticker came off so easy. It left a little residue and not sure what would take it off, but nothing like the stupid UD clear sticker.

Sounds great!

Thanks Chris! It was taking me forever to find the links to the pics.

I did peal off a sticker but not a silver one. I can't see why it would be any different from pealing a clear one. It's just glue underneath.

No I didn't want red ink. Even as cool as it would look, it would stick out like a sore thumb to me.

I believe the silver stickers are quite different and are made to leave part of it behind if peeled off (security issue like), that's why I was wondering if anyone had attempted it.

What card are you considering messing with now?

For starters a Liriano 2006 Topps Chrome, Black and/or Red... But every Twins card I get from now on with a sticker is getting ripped off and resigned.

Lighter fluid.

Not kidding. Don't put it near anything flammable for about a day after doing it. Not that I recommend ever putting cardboard near flames.

Glad to see you are going the no sticker route.
And yes, that would look bad ass!!!

You will be busy at Twinsfest next year. Or are you going to get them done during the season this year?

Yes it has been done. Sliqwill did it for a football card back when there was this card of some no name stealer and it had a Cutler auto (I want to say on the back). Sliqwill proved that it was easy to remove it and replace it on the back of the card. You could tell the one with Cutler was faked since it had half of the stamp Donruss uses on cards.

yeah i remember that thread, that was on the collectors group i think? You are right, the Cutler auto was on the back of some Steelers card and that guy was selling it on Ebay as an "error" card for some crazy BIN, like $2000 or something stupid.

Hey guys i am very interested in this, especially since a couple months ago I turned anti-sticker. I think getting them re-signed is a great idea. thanks for the info.

Re: Question for auto sticker removers...

Just tried this as an experiment to help. This was an 06 Topps Chrome, and the sticker peeled off easily (a little tough to get the corner without scratching it though). After removing, there was the "sticky" residue left under the removed sticker, as expected. Using some "Goo Gone" on a soft cloth removed it all perfectly, with NO damage to the card at all. Here are the before/after scans...

These 06 Topps Chrome's also have the "Certified Autograph" label hidden under the sticker, so these would look SWEET with on-card autos!

Looks like you're in luck Bo. And Dave is still my hero for pulling that sticker off of a 1/1 from his set! Ballsy move. ;)

Yeah, he took a Donruss card and pulled off a Paul Pinnegar auto and slapped it on the back. He also erased the sharpie and wrote his name on it
