I appreciate all the responses...I am kinda torn as to what to do because I am a collector as well as a hoarder...Guess I will come off some of my dupes

I'm not the hoarder collector, so that's what I would do. Either that, or sell random other cards you have. That's what I try and do in general to fund my Granderson collection. I don't really care about my other cards. They are only to get more Grandersons.

I have given some of my Bagwell dupes away but I don't always like doing that because I can sometimes use them to trade with people who have some cards I need but even then I am kinda picky. The bad thing is Bagwell cards sell well even though I don't think he will make the HOF and he doesn't play anymore. You would think his stuff would have went down a little. At least he doesn't play anymore. That's why I don't try to hardcore player collect any of the new players. There are only so many Bagwells I need that are really low numbered or 1/1's.If he was still around it would be really frustrating to try to nab all of his cards and I may very well not be trying to do it.Its hard enough to go after the cards I want. And to me...you really need to try to go after every card if you can.Even if that means buying all the cheap stuff first and then working your way towards the mid-higher end stuff. It works out one way or the other I guess.

I wouldn't sell off any of my stuff if I collect the guy though.Everything surfaces eventually provided it has been pulled.Chances are if you're in your 20's then you will eventually see one of every card of your player or close to it before you croak. At least you will have a shot. But I wouldn't get worked up about him doing well or about the cards being near impossible to find. With the craziness that is low numbered cards and 1/1's...you are pretty much going to be frustrated by something you have no control over no matter how much money you have so it does not pay to be impatient or frustrated.Just wait it out and do the best you can.And along the way try not to lose interest and motivation for why you collect who and what you do.
