WOW!! There are some seriously impressive collections represented here!!

To the OP, I just kind of collect whatever catches my eye. I will pick up duplicates when I can find them cheap. I do not mind variety of items because at the end of the day it will be very hard to find all of the players you want in the same medium.

Here is what I have so far...up to 119 different HOFers.

BTW...all of the autos you see on a ball are on the same ball that my dad picked up over years of working in sports television.

MaineMule and Bombjack were just the posters I had hoped would respond to this post!

Thanks for the information, it has been very helpful. I already picked up my first cut tonight, Chas. Gehringer.

I also have about 60 HOF autos already from my autograph collection.

Tom

...thanks!! ;)

Another point, since I am a #'s guy (in life) I am always scheming (along with AMAZIN HOF COLLECTOR and Mighty Bombjack) as to whom might be elected to the Hall in future elections. We've picked up players, execs and umpires in anticipation of election. I waited with baited breathe as to whether Gil Hodges would get in on the last Veteran's ballot since I had yet to pick up his auto. I of course did have several or Santo.

We'll see a week from tomorrow if Larkin, Lee Smith, Trammell, Morris or anyone else gets elected.

Here are some to look at for the future (Wicki's top candidates new to the ballot for that year)-

* 2013: Craig Biggio, Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, Mike Piazza, Curt Schilling, Sammy Sosa
* 2014: Tom Glavine, Jeff Kent, Greg Maddux, Mike Mussina, Kenny Rogers, Frank Thomas
* 2015: Carlos Delgado, Randy Johnson, Pedro Martínez, Gary Sheffield, John Smoltz
* 2016: Jim Edmonds, Ken Griffey, Jr., Trevor Hoffman, Andy Pettitte, Billy Wagner

Obviously some of these are slam-dunks while others are clouded in controversy.....

This is just the regular BBWAA ballot, there will be others for consideration on the annual Veteran's Ballot.

I don't have Hodges either and was sweating it, because he's not cheap (and I think he deserves to be in, but that's for another thread). I lost out on an auction a few days before the announcement, but then was glad I did. Another announcement a week from today! It is certainly fun to ruminate over future HOFers, both in terms of retired guys that have an outside shot and current players that are putting up consistent numbers.

Johan-Show off that Gehringer when it comes in!
