i dont need to hear from folks that arent into slabs, i know how some people
feel about slabs, and thats cool that they have their opinion.

Heres my question.....

If you want to buy a raw $100 (non RC) card and its in the following slabs:

a) PSA 5
b) SCG 60
c) BVG 5

What would your ceiling bid be on a,b, and c?
If you cared to elaborate on what your ceilings are, that would be great.

Thank You for your time,
Eric

wide open question here. i'm a nut about centering so assuming they are all well centered, then i would check VCP for the ranges for each and bid accordingly hoping to get the best price. taking a step further, if they were all centered the same, i would opt for the PSA holder as its the easiest to crack (BVG being the hardest, by a lot).

There are a lot of variables to consider. If the card is a "stand alone" card (not part of a set or player collection you are working on), I would use SGC.

If the card is part of a set or player collection, I would go with SGC for pre war and possible PSA for post war. (Post war PSA cards are more plentiful in the marketplace.)

Beckett might be acceptable for modern day cards, but would not be my first (or second) choice.

If you ever even CONSIDER buying a PRO graded card, I will personally give you a wedgie of Biblical proportions!
