I have a 1999-00 Autographics Tim James card that is signed in blue rather than black. The cards signed in blue were supposed to be #'d to 50, but this one does not have a serial # on the front or back. Does anyone know if James signed all of his cards in blue rather than black, or if this might be some unnumbered card (IE a holdback by Fleer/Skybox etc.)? Any help will be appreciated.

Sadly once Fleer went belly-up, everything seems to be a mystery with the releases. Cards that supposedly didn't exist all of the sudden flooded the market.

Not sure in this specific case, but it certainly sounds like it could a result of the bankruptcy auction.

I don't doubt that possibility. I wish I knew more of the history of the card, but unfortunatly it was one of the cards I picked up from Huggins and Scott in one of the lots from the $14K spending spree last year, and they probably have no idea where it came form other than the consignor. It was in a lot of other company certified cards; some fleer/skybox, some UD, some Press Pass / SAGE, so it's not like it was part of some big lot of mysterious cards (other F/S cards in the lot that are supposed to be numbered are).

I'll post a scan of it once I get it on line.

I don't think the blue is in reference to the ink, but to the foil/background. I pulled this myself back then. They were also hand numbered on the front.

Interesting. That certainly would explain a lot. Guess I'll have to look a little harder. Thanks!
