It was pretty sweet seeing Shogun get the KO. I have been a HUGE fan of his since his Pride days, so seeing him show up in shape was awesome. He will be a threat for the belt.

Rua is just another fighter in the long line of overrated Pride fighters that have come to the UFC.

Just out of curiosity, why the hate for Liddell? I neither love or hate him.
I think most feel is highly overrated, and front what I've seen all he has is a punch and nothing else.

How is/was he overrated? He dominated his division when he was in his prime. He's clearly over the hill and his best days are gone. He knows, Dana knows it, and everyone knows it. He can't get in there and bang with the new breed of MMA fighters that are 10 years younger than him. I don't think you can call him overrated.

He is now, alot of people still talk about him now as a God, he was great in his prime, but hasn't had it for a while.

LOL! You're kidding right? That "overrated Pride fighter" not only just ended Chuck's career, but has MANY huge wins in his career. He also beat the living crap out of Rampage.

Rua had TWO major knee surgeries last year which is why he showed some ring rust upon his return. Looked pretty damn good to me last night!

Blah Blah Blah. Yeah Ive heard it all before. Why is it that all the Pride fighters except for Rampage and Hendo have a long list of excuses for their losses? What was Rua's excuse for loosing to Forrest? Thar was before the surgeries right? Rua beat an overmatched old fighter. If they put him against any top flight 205 pounder he'll get beat. Oh I almost forgot, I'm not kidding.

Liddell needs to retire, but he won't.If Dana White lets him go,he will sign with another promotion.Rua looked good in that fight, but he hasn't showed me much since he came to the ufc.I think he would have major trouble with Evans,Jackson,Machida.

I know he beat Jackson in Pride, but i believe in a cage,Jackson would dominate him.

I saw an interview with Dana where he said that he won't allow him to fight somewhere else. Not sure how that's possible, but that's what he was saying anyway.

How about Anderson Silva? Oh, did you foget he was a Pride fighter? And that he LOST in Pride??
And yes, Rua's loss was due to ring rust caused from his knee surgery.

I'm a fan of both Rampage and Rua, but give the man some respect. He just won a huge fight, and when he fought Rampage in Pride, he damn near killed him.

Rua is for real and will be a threat. Will he take the belt? No idea. But he is without question top 10 if not higher.

I'm well aware of Silva's record in Pride. He hasn't lost in the UFC so he didn't factor into our conversation. Anyway we'll see what happens.

You can't have it both ways. You can't say how overrated Liddell is then claim it's a huge victory for Rua. Silva also damn near killed Rampage but the UFC is a different aminal.

I never called Chuck overrated. As far as Wandy / Rampage, Rampage has improved a LOT over the last few years. Wandy's prime is passed IMO. Both of those guys are from Pride anyway.

As far as Pride / UFC differences, that debate could go on for 10 more pages. The UFC doesn't allow knees and kicks to a downed opponent, which they should. Takes away a lot from many fighters games. Pride should have allowed elbows, but they didnt. Both orgs have flaws.

Whatever, you obviously prefer the UFC, I prefer Pride. Neither of us is going to convince the other.

True, but it's hard to argue with the losses racked up by a majority of the Pride fighters when they came to the UFC.

Some of the Pride guys came over and performed poorly, but I wouldn't say the "majority". Nog may have lost recently, but he did win the UFC belt. Rampage has done great, Shogun looks to be back to old form, and Anderson has been dominant. Some guys have been average. For example Wandy lost to Chuck, killed Jardine, and then lost to Rampage (a former Pride fighter).
You never mentioned the UFC guys that went to go fight in Pride and failed, but that's another issue.

We keep going in circles, so lets just say that both the UFC and Pride has good and bad fighters who have had their share of wins in losses in the respective orgs. (I think that sentence made sense...lol Late at night...)
