I got back into cards after college in 1981. Fernando was a big hit. In a few years his cards weren't worth half of what the guides were claiming. Rumors about his age were rampant. He had no birth certificate and came from small no doctor village. Only Pete Rose was as popular of the active players. RIP

I hope this provides the Dodgers a little more motivation to win this World Series, a tribute to the rookie that starred in the last WS these teams faced off against each other in 1981! Would be an amazing story.

And that Freeman grand slam last night was nothing short of EPIC!
