Sad day for the Raiders D since there is almost no shot he comes back. The potential free agents on this team are scary. Aside from nnamdi we could lose seymour, gallery, zach miller, michael huff, and michael bush. Boy they better get most of those guys locked up or it could be right back to where we werebefore this year.

When I saw that this morning, I immediately said a quick prayer for Jerry to bring him to Dallas.

Same here and I wouldn't put it past Jerry since the secondary was such a problem.

why would the dumbshits do that
He had a clause in his contract that he could opt out of his contract if he wasn't able to obtain certain bonus monies.

If i read the article right it was the Raiders not nnamdi that had the clause and if he didnt meet certain performance based goals they could void his contract. stupid move I say

Ah, I thought I read that his contact was voided for not reaching certain incentives, and that it would be his choice if he wanted out. My mistake.

Man just when it seemed things were turning around. They had a great draft last year and played very well this year. Now they decide to blow it all to hell again, what is going on there even as a lifelong Raiders fan im getting confused lol

Seems like an odd deal.
I don't see why such a deal would be in the players best interests......so is this one on the Raiders for setting up a del in this manner? Seems to be par for the course.

The reports aren't really clear, so maybe that's the confusion.....actually when you read it - it sounds like the contract is voided due to not reaching incentive, and didn't have to be voided by either party.

"Asomugha’s deal included a little-known clause that said his contract would void if he didn’t achieve his not-likely-to-be-earned incentives in 2010 -- and he didn'’t.
His contract also contained a stipulation that if he didn’t achieve his incentives, the Raiders would agree not to designate him their franchise or transition player."

Yeah the wording makes it confusing but in the end it seems like the Raiders are the ones that used the clause and voided it which makes no sense why not lock him up to a long term contract hes right there with revis (maybe even better) in terms of the top shut down corner. I know he didnt have any pics but he wasnt challenged much.

I think the amount of money he wanted and Lewis' age prevented the Cowboys from signing him. In this case the player is younger and still in his prime.

He is going to the 9ers :)

He has lived in the Bay for 14 years he is settled down here, the 9ers said money wasn't an issue and need a shutdown corner.
