If this is true, I dont think its do to fear at all. I would think its the same reason the Rock left the WWE. Something better and safer came along. We'll see. I'll read the article when I get home. Still at work.

Oh Sam, you closeminded little MMA fanboy.

Rampage fought Wanderlei twice, Shogun, Randelman, and Arona while those guys were quite possibly on PEDs.
Lets not forget about Liddell twice and a close to prime Igor Vovchancyn.

Seriously doubt hes "affraid" of Rashad and Machida.

Considering he also seems content to not get a rematch with Griffin, who he surely would smoke the second time around, I have a feeling he may just not want to fight anymore rather than hes scared of anyone.

Look at his list of opponants and theres a ton of guys in there that he fought that had WAY better resumes than Machida and Rashad at the time he fought them!

I was just razzing JZ a little with my comment Ty, :)
I read the whole article and it basically says he did everything and was loyal to the UFC, but Dana and the UFC weren`t loyal to him.

He already has the role as BA in the upcoming A-Team movie. We'll see how that goes.

In all seriousness, if he can make a nut load of money not getting kneed in the face for a living, good for him, he should do that.
BUT I will always believe he was ducking Machida by taking the TUF coaching gig. Who doesn`t want a title shot? Someone who knows he is going to lose to the champion. Will be interesting to see how he does as B.A.

If that article on bloody elbow was right and Dana did go to the internet and make fun of him for his reasons for wanting to do the A-Team then that's low even for Dana.

Me neither but hes had a long active career!

I mean, the guy is 31 and has 37 pro fight and a couple underground non sanctioned fights that I know of as well.

By contrast Machida is the same age and has 15 fights. It will catch up to you, guarantee it.

Rampage fought 6 times in 2000, 8 times in 2001, and 6 times in 2003. Thats more than half his fights in 3 years. A persons body in no way can take that type of punishment especially at the levels he was fighting.

Each and every fight takes a little bit out of you, even if you win. I have a feeling he looked at Liddell who now probably would be lucky to win 1 fight out of fighting the tp 10 guys and said, I dont want to be at the point where guys are KOing me to earn their title shots.

Money is good but $250K twice a year is not worth it if your a drooling retard at 50 years old.

And for the record, I've never seen as much as an ounch of fear in Rampage...ever.

I don`t know if it was fear or what, but I remember making the comment to my friends while watching the entrance and introductions before the last Wanderlei fight that Rampage just didn`t look like his normal howling bouncing around pumped up self. He just didn`t look right to me. He kind of looked like he didn`t know what to expect, or he didn`t know what he had gotten himself into, just didn`t look like his normal confident self. And the others noticed what I was talking about as well. Did anyone else notice this while watching that? Maybe that was just `Page in serious wanting revenge mode. I don`t know, but he looked off mentally that night. But we all know what happened physically.

Nope never noticed any of that. To busy watching Rampage la the beatdown on my favorite fighter.
Doesnt your "suggestion/implication of fear" mean squat though considering he KO'd the guy who had brutally finished him twice before?

Wouldnt the logical conclusion be that whatever the mindset he had before the Wanderlei fight was the right mindset since he finished Wanderlei in highlight reel fashion?

Jesus Christ can nobody say anything about Quentin Jackson without you getting your ******* in a bunch? I didn`t even say anything bad. I just made an observation that he didn`t come out like he normally does. I challenge anyone to go back and watch his entrance, pay attention to his demeanor, facial expressions, and tell me with a straight face that was the usual Rampage. Because it wasn`t. And did you read my entire post? Because I said I didn`t know that it WAS fear, and we seen the result of the fight. He brutally KO`d Wand. Even so, just because he knocked him out, that doesn`t necessarially mean he WASN`T timid coming into the fight. And who could blame him if he was a little after being worked over so hard in the clinch with knees in their previous two encounters. I wasn`t mouthing him, just making an observation.
