Thought this was an interesting read. To summarize, Randy:
-Praises Miguel Montero, while at the same time subtly bashing everyday catcher Chris Snyder, one of the leaders on and off the field for the D-backs.
-Subtly bashes the D-backs current management group (don't blame him here).
-And of course: He made it clear that his sentimental home is in Seattle, just in case the Hall of Fame was curious as to what hat he'd like to wear for eternity.
"I'd say the biggest thrill I got was going back to Seattle," Johnson said. "The time I spent there, what it meant to me and my career . . . I had more wins there than any place else, more time there then any place else. It was kind of my steppingstone. All the other teams I played for kind of reaped the benefits . .

I'm not sure on the rules, but I didn't think he could choose which team he goes in with. Regardless, yet another one of the franchises biggest players leaves town unhappy. D-backs management should seriously reconsider the treatment of some of their players.

correct, i believe the HOF committee decides what team you go into the HOF as.

I don't even see how it's a question of which team he should go in as.

I get that he had some incredible seasons in Arizona, and he got a ring there, but this guy will be remembered as a Mariner.

I think he will not be able to pick which one of the teams he goes in as
The Hall of Fame picks it for you.

He will always be an Expo to me....actually as a big fan of Randy, I like the Mariners era the best. In my opinion it was when he was most feared; I'm pretty sure statistically his best years were in Arizona but as a Mariners his crazy mullet and not so great control made those his prime years for me.

Heres to guy who made me realize as a high school first basemen I wouldn't make it to the majors because I would never want to face him:

The HOF has the final decision, but they ask the player what they want before deciding.

It baffles me the number of people who still don't know that the player doesn't choose the hat they go in wearing anymore.

It seems like that conversation comes up anytime there is new discussion about a player going into the HOF.

Personally, I would vote for him to go in as a D-Back. That was where he put his official HOF stamp on things.

I agree there. You think the players at least would know.
It's a toss up for me really. 4 of his 5 Cy Young's here, his WS MVP, 8 years of his career, a number of strikeout milestones. It's hard for me to see him going in as a Mariner, but it would be understandable.

He should go in as an Astro, since that is who he was with for the proudest moment of his career.

That was in a Diamondbacks uniform as well. So now there really is not debate what uniform to wear.

He became a legend in a Diamondbacks uniform.

Hopefully the HOF directors make him the first DBack in the HOF.
