$500,000 is a STEAL. If I was a Rangers fan Id be excited about that deal. You pay him next to nothing and he is out to prove he can still play. He will have to EARN his spot in the lineup and not just have it handed to him. And if he plays like last year.... team is only out 500K.

Win - Win situation for the Rangers.

ABSO-FREAKING-LUTELY!!! A complete steal. Andruw will earn that with defense alone! Very little risk and a chance for total reward.

I think his off-year gets has gotten motivated...if he has the same year in 2009 that he did in 2008, then he's probably destined for the nursing home.

They have enough bats in line-up that a subpar Jones offense = OK

I've read that numerous places, and it just doesn't make any sense to me. Assuming the Andruw that shows up is close to the bulky, overweight version of 07-08, I can't see him being able to play anything above an average center field.
