Those aren't the numbered ones from what I can tell. Where did you hear that only 30 existed? I know the pin totally certified had the print run of 30 but these appear to be just the basic pin certified gold.

I have heard tales of even the pinnacle certified having more than 30 copies.Either way...I'd never pay for one like I would a regular card from that era numbered that low.

No , the Mirror Golds are not numbered. The 1996 version was printed to 30 and everyone ASSUMED 1997 was 30 as well, not true, obviously.

The numbered versions are from Totally Certified, completely different print from Certified thought the checklist was the same. The two sets should not be confused because the values are EXTREMELY different.

Ron asked me a question about one of my Will Clark cards, and I posted this in the Will Clark thread. I hope this cross-posting is OK, as I figure it might be of interest to this thread, as well. Also, I'd like to see what the board knows about the 1995 Score Gold Rush Redemption cards. Any idea how many are out there?

Drew I saw on your site you have a 1995 Score Gold Rush redeemed....what's the story with that card? And do you have a scan of the back?

Ron, I'm pretty sure I picked that up from a Beckett Marketplace dealer a year or two ago. (I spent a ton of cash there in the last three years.)

Here's what one Ebay seller has to say about the Gold Rush and Redeemed cards:
an Ebay Auction said:
Parallel to the basic Score issue, these cards were inserted one per foil pack and two per jumbo pack. The fronts were printed in gold foil and the backs contain the Gold Rush logo. As part of the Gold Rush program, one Platinum Team Redemption card was randomly inserted in Score packs at a rate of one in 36. This redemption card and up to four Gold Rush team sets (and $2) could be redeemed for platinum versions of the team set(s). The Gold Rush sets that were sent in would be returned with a stamp indicating they were already used for redemption purposes. The Platinum Upgrade offer was good through 7/13/95 for series 1, 10/1/95 for series 2.

So, it seems the card I have, which has a stamped Pinnacle logo in the bottom right corner, was sent in by a collector for the platinum redemption. They stamp the card (punch goes all the way through, so you can now see through the card) and return it.

I guess?

Anyone know for sure? Maybe I'll post this to the 90's insert thread and see what people have to say.

Anyway, here's the card. Regular Gold Rush on the left, Redeemed on the right. I'm nearly certain the card is identical in every way other than the redemption stamp, but I'll try to check for you.

As a note, I hate the way these cards scan.

For good measure, here are the base and platinum versions, as well:

One last comment: I hated those blue Rangers uniforms. I much, much preferred the red uniforms. Shockingly, I don't recall them asking for my opinion at the time.

Pretty excited about my latest Biggio pickup.

1997 Bowman's Best Mirror Image Atomic Refractor INVERTED

1997BowmansBestMirrorImageAtomicRef.jpg

I've never seen the "inverted" atomic refractor version for sale before. Anyone know how rare these are?

Best part is that it wasn't listed as the "inverted" version, so I picked it up cheap. :D

A new pick-up that I consider to be the highlight of my collection(Never thought it would surface/become available). Scan is horrible and doesn't do it justice:

I hate to tell you this, but there is more than one copy of these "1/1's" out there.

Interesting note on the 1998 Score R/T 1 of 1's - I believe there were two "1/1" cards produced for each player. I've seen the second one to my Grace below in person; it was identical to mine in every way. The David Justice super collector has both copies in his collection (http://home.cogeco.ca/~smt/1-of-1/1998-score-one-of-two.html). The Matt Williams collector has both copies of his (http://home.cogeco.ca/~smt/1-of-1/1998-score-one-of-two.html).

Its my belief there was 1 set in the retail packs and 1 set in the hobby packs, but I could be wrong.

EDIT - Sorry, for redundancy. This got posted while I was typing
