Also note how this talks about the debut of the mirror blacks. Further indication that the 1997 Blacks were indeed misprints?

Has anyone seen a 1997 Mirror Black? I know one is still on my EY list but if it has been proved to not exist I'd love to remove it :)
i think george has some

These were produced for case print run 4 or 5 depending on whom you asked at Pinnacle. They were a test for the 1998 sets. No serial number and only 1 sheet was made, thus not all players have a mirror black from the 1997 set.

Please ask if you have more questions.

Thanks for that, I havent even begun to look through this thread in its entirety...though I plan to!

So now the question is whether or not EY was on the sheet that was made I suppose, the hunt will continue!

I think I may be misunderstanding your post with the pictures that magicpapa brought up so I guess the best thing to clear would be were these packed out with the small print run or distributed in another fashion? The ones you have are the only ones I've definitely ever seen!

These were pack inserted near the tail end of the 1997 printing. Several print runs were completed due to high demands and the need for cash on Pinnacles part. Only 1 sheet was mirror finished thus the cards are a reported 1/1 non-serial numbered.

Plasticman, Yes, I have seen the Eddie Murray, sold at the 1999 Nationals for 3K, I have not seen it since.

Why can I not find a Grace 98 Golden Anniversary #/50??? It's the last card I need to have EVERY Bowman/Bowman Chrome card made of him. Stinks I have the Golden Anniversary Refractor #/5 but can't find the other!

I actually have 2 golden anniversary's and I'd gladly give them up for the refractor version. Outside of a red crusade it is my most wanted card.
