why do the TEK cards that are printed only #/10 sell for so cheap?

10 printed of each TEK player variant.

exactly! There are two types of player collectors, those that collect variants and those that don't.

For the '99's, there were 30 A patterns and 30 B patterns. They made gold #'d/10 of each of the 60 patterns.

So for non variant collectors, there are 600 gold cards and they only want 1 or 2 (A & B)

For the rest of us, there are 600 gold cards and we need 60 (30 A and 30 B)

How could a player collector not go after these? Only the truly insane would pass up a truly insane set.

I'm currently at 34 of 60. Most of mine cost around $20.

Anyone any closer to completing this set?

3 of 60 for Lee...not close but its a start

I only have 3 as well. I just lost out to dreamerfan tonight on another (at least I think it was him). I didn't put a big bid as I didn't have the funds to bid too high. At least it went to a good guy.

I have one! Too much other stuff to get before I go after any more. For me, I checked it off the list and moved on. (Although for the right price... ;) )

Those were pretty popular in the mid-90s and are stackalbe. You'll find them with Nolan Ryan and Frank Thomas a lot too, or just no name.

This arrived today - anyone ever see these screw downs before?
Yeah I've seen some of different players. I'm not sure who made them though.

Does anyone think a 2000-2003ish thread is in order? Still some nice stuff from those years.
