Regarding those with concerns over the topic/title of the thread:

The reason this has gone on so long with anything from cool/oddball inserts of the 90's to actual "rare" inserts from that decade is because the majority of the members here have a spot in their heart for that decade, myself included.

As for other sports, I actually don't mind seeing them. Sometimes I feel that basketball/football cards had some cooler inserts than baseball and if anyone has any, feel free to show them off.

Now, back on topic. 300+ pages and I haven't seen anyone post inserts from Triple Play. Sure, it was a crap set, but some of the inserts were pretty cool. If I missed a post though, well, post them again :)

Here you go Fry, a 1994 Triple Play Medalist insert.

I like the nickname inserts. Full bleed photo with the player nickname in holographic foil. Ok, so they weren't cool by any means, but still unique.

Thanked. I remember Triple Play had something like Gallery of Stars or something, basically the Wal-Mart version of Diamond Kings.

I also have the unopened version still in the plastic thing you could buy at toys'r'us and I also have the 1993 stadium club astros team set card signed with the treat COA.These are pretty neat and I paid around $10 a pop for the Bagwells.I saw a BIN a while back for the Frank Thomas for like $24.99.I was thinking of buying it but didn't have the funds. That is a beautiful card to get auto'd!

I'm keeping my eyes open for the OB% version to finish the mini "rainbow."

Oddly enough this is the only one for Bags I have seen thus far.

Yes...the dreaded green, and most limited of all for most players. Beautiful cards though!

What were the odds on the greens?

I don't know the odds per se, but they're numbered to the statistical number for the corresponding player...so each player's card is different for each of the 3 variants. The green OB% just happens to be the lowest statistical value numerically speaking for most players in the sets.

Ok...so the Griffey would be numbered to 382 copies then.I always wondered why mine was numbered to 1017.

Exactly, my two Thomas's are numbered to 1067 (Power Index) and 611 (Slugging)...so technically, the better your player performed in 1997, the more common his card happens to be...kind of ironic in that the statistically best are the easiest to obtain. Now I need the OB% for Frank numbered to something like 456, which is the most common as I believe he lead the majors in '97.

Larry Walker was the top man in PI and S%.
