You took me out on this one in the final seconds. It looks if you or I weren't involved it would have sold for $23 to the guy who had the high bid of $72.13 since the next highest bid was only $22. I was going after it for trade bait. Congratulations to you.

I don't remember seeing a post about these. 1996 Zenith Diamond Club, with an actual diamond chip. 1:350 packs.

I'm really irked about the Superstar Samplers right now. Guy had the Ripken set on eBay that looked pretty nice, I made him an offer on his BIN price, he sent a counter offer that wasn't too bad. Before I had an opportunity to act on it, they sold to someone else. :(

I know what you mean, it stinks. That's just the way it goes though. Another will pop up, heck I only have one card, not the set.

I like the gold refractors, do you prefer the cards (any set) with the refractor peel or without? Personally I love the peel and have passed over cards that are missing it but that's just me.

Peel does not matter to me whether it is on or off.

I also prefer to have the peel kept on. But grading sometimes requires you to remove them to prevent low surface grades. I am not too picky about it, but I sometimes feel the unpeeled cards are altered as they are no longer the way they were originally distributed.

Hello again. I stumbled across this auction on eBay the other day...

http://cgi.ebay.com/1997-GOLD-DONRUSS-P ... 0250025038

When I first saw it, I looked like this: :D

I think I've found the 1997 Donruss Preferred All Star Fanfest Tins - and it looks like they ahve gold accents instead of the usual red.

Can anyone confirm this and/or speculate about rarity?

Also, let me know if you need the Jeter or Piazza, but they are mighty tough!

holy crap! is that what they look like. ive never seen a bagwell so i didnt even know what to look for. is the gold foil the only difference between the tins?

seriously?! they look the same except one has a diamond piece in them. any discrepancies in appearance may arise from scans where the one with the diamond scans funky cause its not laying completely flat cause of the diamond piece.
