Those skylines are really sweet but I still have no idea why they book so darn high still.Man that was a tough auction to win.I wasn't sure what it would go for.

Beckett states that these were inserted in magazine packs at a ratio of 1:29. I don't know about you other player collectors, but I only remember seeing around 2 of my guy listed on eBay over the last 3 years or so and each time they sold very well. Either alot of the magazine packs were not opened, the insetion rate is way off, or both. When I look up Frank Thomas '96 Pinnacle Skylines on Becketts website, it shows 2 haves (1 is mine) and 3 wants. I know this doesn't mean much but for instance when I search for Frank's '93 Finest Refractor it shows 7 haves and 2 wants. Just throwing that out there. Not saying that they are rarer than '93 Finest Refractors, but for a card inserted 1:29 packs they sure are scarce.

Magazine packs eh?What exactly are these?I have never heard of them.Are they inserted in a magazine or whats the deal.Either way I just figured it was another nice looking 90's insert with a crazy insertion rate which made it worth $$$ and in demand.

I wish McGwire was in that set. Skybox had a simliar run of cards that I loved. The print run reminds me of the Silver '96 Studio proofs (100 exist) and were inserted into magazines. I've seen 3 of those of McGwire. My assumption (pure assumption) is that the same goes for the skylines. They appear to be more rare than they are which boosts the cost of the cards and make them that much harder to get.

^ very nice.I only need the /99.Do all of the golds catch finger prints.From the 20 something scans of them Ive seen they all look to attract dust and prints.
