Is it normal for the numbering on the back to blend into the card? There is no way of telling its numbered unless you feel back of the card.

The only one I have is like that too, so I would assume that is how they were issued.

I KNEW it was him that won that card. He got lucky, I didn't see the sale til after it was closed. Next time, George_Calfas!!

How many multiple copies of these have people seen?

I know, those are unreleased :P

I dont remember Dave and Adams ever having more than 1 copy of any of them, gold or red.

Player collectors, any thoughts?[/quote:g9t835e9]
1 griffey here, only one ive seen,

These Test issues are supposed to be 1/1's but I'm not too sure about that:

That is what I had thought until plasticman said he has two reds of one player. I personally have never seen double of any of the test except for the totally golds in which all 30 were set free.

Was going through my collection and realized I didn't have the real version of the gold finest die cut refractor.

I had a factory replacement version of it (notice no serial number). So I just landed the real one.

I think I use to own 10/100. Dont understand the replacement no serial number. I had a McGwire replaced and they sent me 94/100, strange

The top one has to be back-doored. They held onto them unstamped, then say if you sent your 10/100 back damaged, then they'd stamp the unstamped one 10/100 and send it back as a replacement. I've got a very large handful of these.

Here's another example of a factory replacement from '99 Topps Finest. Normally #'d/50 as seen below:

Just curious, O, but do you count those as part of your collection? I understand it's a personal thing, and I am not saying what's "right" and what's "wrong", I am honestly curious, as I am with any player collector. Do you count back-door cards as part of your collection?

I do not, and I do not look for them or buy them, but if I found a pile of them for a free I would pick them up and show them off! :D

whereas the 1998 red label serial numbering was done in, well red, the 1999 gold label red serial numbering was done with an just an imprint, also done for the 1999 topps stars serial numbered cards, so yeah its easy to miss sometimes

You might want to pass that info on.I'd like to know when Jim is bidding so I can go ahead and move on.No reason to waste my time bidding against him.Too loaded.
