Got a few packages today, I'm still trying to figure out if this is the Grand Finale version, if not I really overpaid for the regular gold version.

And then this showed up as well. Never seen one until Magicpapa made a mention of it a long time ago.

The SPX appears to have a gold tint to the holoview, and the auction scan also looks to have a gold tint. Although scans can be deceiving. My guess would be it is a grande finale version. The only way to make sure is to match it up with some other 1997 SPX cards and see if the holoviews appear to be the same or different. I believe only the grande finale versions had a gold holoview, so it should be fairly easy to compare. Good Luck!

Regarding the Grand Finale:

Randomly inserted in packs, cards from this 50-card set are an extremely limited edition parallel version of the base set and features an all gold holoview image. Only 50 of each card was produced. The set was entitled Grand Finale to signify the fact that this would be the last baseball product Upper Deck would ever use the holoview technology on.

Kinda sucks about the last sentence though.
