Seller offered to pay a full refund and for their BGS costs if the card does not get at least a BGS 9.

Thoughts?

Thats a good deal, although the scan looks as if it were a picture of the card out of a beckett or something

This seems strange...I would be surprised if the seller actually gets paid on this......here is why

1) I bought a Pujols BGS 9 w/10 AUTO about 2 weeks before the season for $2100

2) BGS 9 w/10 AUTO sells at the start of season for $2400 and then another sells 3 times at $3K (seller kept having to relist due to non-payment)

3) During this time Pujols Raws were bringing just at $2K

4) Pujols has actually cooled down a bit on the field since the beginning of the season as has the Cardinals......

Even though Pujols is putting up good numbers, I just dont see how all of the sudden there is a $1500 difference than what his cards have been bringing. Even as a 9 it is still $500-$1K higher.....

It's gotta be that 10% donation to Habitat for Humanity :D

Seriously though, if the buyer thinks he can roll the dice and possibly get a 9.5, it would be worth it to splurge. Not saying it will, but just trying to play devil's advocate. Reaching, but trying.

Yes but isnt there a limitation on feedback? it will take at least 3 weeks to grade and ship no? So the seller could use that to counter?

For a card of that magnitude, I'm sure the buyer would use the 2-day turnaround.

Scratch that, for a card of that magnitude, I'd drive down to Texas and drop it off at BGS myself, then wait outside until they're done.

No what i am saying is you can only leave feedback for a certain time a normal jjoe would do the 20 day turnaround thus losing the chance to leave feedback

I'm hoping it's just a poor picture/crop job, because from the pic, that card is miscut (uneven right/left borders). For a 3.5K card, you would think he would provide a better pic/scan!
