Like I said, what Ray Allen did is suspension worthy.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4068509

And like everyone else said, it was unintentional to hit him in the junk and some retaliation was deserved. I'm sure the Celtics are thrilled with the suspension because it means a little rest for ray before the playoffs.

Im sure they are, but that dosent discount the fact that he gave a cheap shot and the league saw that as well.

Thanks for the video but I am going to stick with the fact that it was unintentional as it looks like he was just trying to clear him out as Varejao was crowding him. I would say its a cheap shot if he intentionally did it but since I dont think it was Intentional I dont think it was a cheap shot but a matter of circumstance. Oh well Allen has served his suspension and I doubt we will ever see Allen make that mistake again.

And he got the night off while the Celtics still took care of business! I'm sure everyone on the team is happy with the results.

Varejao is a dirty player....while I don't think a shot to the junk was necessary (if it was intentional).....he had it coming.

I absolutely will never understand these types of posts. I seriously wont. Its very possible to kill his ability to procreate, cause major damage and possibly ruin a career. Im sorry but I highly doubt he has ever done anything worthy of such a thing.

I hope it was a joke and I didnt get it, but I doubt it.

you are 100% missing the point of everyone's post. you're so hung up on where the elbow landed and are missing the intent. he DID NOT mean to hit him in the junk, but it happened. Varejao was playing dirty (as he always does) and through ray to the ground. He then continued to stand over him after while he was on the ground. In an effort to move Varejao back he threw an elbow and it just worked out to land in that area.

No one is saying it's ok to hit someone in the balls, but what everyone is saying is that it was unintentional and Varejao deserved to be hit back. It's unfortunate that it landed in that area (but clearly didn't end up hitting anything). If you're still missing this then you need to step back and look at both sides of the issue.

I see what your saying, I truly do. I just believe he did it on purpose, thats all. Something we will agree to disagree on. ( I assume anyway)

And why do you believe that? His head and elbow both went up at the same time so it's not like he was aiming it before hand. More importantly, and the main reason I have an issue with this thread, does Ray have some history I don't know of? You call him a cheap shot artist and believe all this was intentional, but there is no reason that I know about to think this other than bias against good players/boston players/or listening to talking heads that will take the side that will get the most response from viewers.

So basically someone cant have an opinion outside of yours/Against any godly Boston team/other people. Obviously im not the only one who felt it was intentional. He didnt simply push away someone, he threw an elbow. Its quite obvious he knew where Varejao was and to think that it was completely accidental that he threw an elbow upward in that direction and wasnt aiming would be blind imo. You dont have to look directly at something to know where it is. Otherwise I guess all these behind the back passes are amazing because they really had no clue the person was there, they just guessed. Right?

Alright, I'm done. You twist everything around and avoid questions. I asked WHY you thought what you did, or if there was something Ray's history that would dictate thinking so. Everything I've always heard about him and seen while he's with the Celtics is that he is a complete class act. You've already dismissed people's opinions as jokes, called me ignorant, and talked down to me like I'm an idiot. You sir, are the one who is saying people can't have opinions different than yours. Sorry you couldn't discuss this like an adult without attacking people for thinking otherwise.

Everyone agrees that because Varajao has a history he deserves to be elbowed. That is a childish retort first of all. Noone "deserves" it. If Ray Allen was a class act he wouldnt have thrown the elbow. I called this thought process ignorant, yet I am the one twisting words, right?

Ray Allen threw a cheap shot straight into Varejao Nuts. This = Cheap Shot artist.

You believe it is understandable that people go out of their way to elbow others. Once again, I think thats an ignorant statement. The game is for basketball, not to find fights, punch people and throw elbows to promote more fighting. Once again if Ray Allen was a class act he wouldnt have done this.

You make note that its not ok for Varejao to throw Allen down because it might injure him, then dismiss the fact that elbowing Varejao may in fact do the very same thing. Hypocritical, possibly?

You keep saying its basically impossible for Allen to do it on purpose because he wasnt looking at Varejao. Well I have the opposite opinion. Just because you arent looking at someone dosent mean you know where they are.

And then you go out of your way to pull out the "hater" card against Boston players.

Well played, yet im the one being childish? I never called you an idiot nor did I imply. To suggest so is a flat out lie.

To put all this on Ray Allen is just stupid. I watched the game, and believe me I am not a fan of either team, and this is simply a case of 2 wrongs. First of all Varajao shouldn't have thrown Allen to the ground, secondly Allen shouldn't have elbowed him where he did. I think both should have been suspended 1 game each.

I cannot say I disagree with that at all. It is an excellent post.

trolling??? NO....you seem to think that anybody who doesn't think the same way about the situation is wrong for not agreeing with you....and you have the nerve to accuse people of not allowing you to have your own opinion on the matter....is it not ok for anyone else to have an opinion on the matter that differs from yours since you were the thread starter??? Varejao is dirty....he deserved retaliation...but a shot in the nuts was overboard.....you don't think so...oh, well.
