Ray Emery signs a 1 year deal with the Flyers

Ray Emery will return to the NHL next season after playing last season in the KHL. he signed a 1 year deal with the Philadelphia Flyers. he was 22-8-0 with a 2.12 gaa and .926 save percentage and 3-3 in the playoffs. I am not sure he is the answer the Flyers need in goal. he is definitely a decent goalie but not a number one.

I agree with your assessment though. I don't think he is much of an upgrade over Biron/Nitti, but I guess the 1.5 million is worth the shot. I think most teams were offering a 2-way deal which he wouldn't accept.

He's nothing but a backup, so I'm not sure why the Flyers wanted him. Being a Pens fan, I don't mind it though!!!

he did sign a 2 year contract but there was an out clause stating that if he was signed by an NHL team he could return to the NHL after one season.

Maybe he has something to prove and will be spectacular?
