I have to agree with the thoery that many "ripper's" were not impressed with how the secondary stuff was selling & so they are holding for better days (I really loved snaggin' the base auto's at $.99 per on many of the mid-level guy's & when bought in lot's you could snag some of the upper-level guy's for under $3.00 ea.). Only time will truly tell how this turns out but there really is no way you coulda went wrong if you have been buying single's (if you looked for bargains they were definitely there)! On a different product (Upperdeck USA) with the On-Card Auto's of the top guy's, they have been drying up & a Pedro Alvarez just ended at $49.33+$3.50 s/h

And I guess those Tri-Star cut-out auto's did well too this P.Alvarez just sold for $101.00+ $3.65 s/h  :o

the tristar sold that well because there are only 14 total alvarez's in the product.

Yeah I read that, regardless....the way Tristar has been crapped on by many here you would think those could be had for much less than that (but it only takes one to hit a bin or make an outlandish offer).

14 total autographs across an entire print run, $101 is cheap for that card

On card? Reputable product? The P.Alvarez USA (Independance Day SP/10) Red "On-Card" Auto's don't demand that much...I think you could afford close to 2 of them for the price of the Tri-Star.

Both my RAZOR guys have had hardly anything on eBay recently, and nothing rare at all. Both are very big-name guys, too.

What's going on? Has this stuff really dried up this quickly, or is it simply an anomaly with my two players?

Not much on Ebay since their price increases.

Eh...I picked up two Brett Marshall autos but I am not too worried about it.I will be getting him IP at tristar so I will load up then.

What I don't see a whole lot of is any of the tristar stuff.Has that not hit yet or what?

I don’t think it’s drying up, but rather many people who would’ve busted it may not have after seeing less than a tremendous return on ripping + flipping case proceeds. Also, some people are probably holding until before/during spring training to sell as they'll likely get more $ then.

Agree. I have not listed a single one yet and I bought almost 20 boxes. If packs average about $8-9 per pack (which means 8-9 per auto) no way I am listing the ones that will get me under $2.50. I feel I might as well wait until the heart of the minor league season when some of the exclusives become more known and maybe I get over $5.
As far as the more known players, I am sitting on them hoping for them to take off in 09 so that they could offset the ones the never surpass the couple dollar range

Basically, I didn't pull any of the big big money cards so I decided to sit and wait. My guess is there might be others doing the same.

GREAT outlook & you've made a good decision in my opinion, I think you'll do well with this strategy (just make sure to stick to it)! :D

When the product first released, the singles were dirt cheap. I own 26 Razor singles with an average cost of $2.42...and that includes shipping. Of those 26, one is a blue #/25 and three black #/199.

So for $62.93, I was able to pick up 26 cards of guys I wanted...delivered.

It was clearly a buyers market when these came out.

By rotate I meant a variety...more samples 8-)
Although one saying something to me or my dog (Derby) would be worth a "Thanks"

Chris, I fully understand that as I've followed all of the Razor thread's & this was discussed extensively in one of them. We'll have to agree to disagree on this as I do not think that was a good price (& I would much rather purchase the USA Independance Day Red Auto of Pedro Alvarez- which is reported to have a print run of only 10...& for less $$$ :D )... If I wanted a USA trapped auto, I'd buy a USA trapped auto (it was posted on this board that these Tri-Star auto's were cut from the Upperdeck USA auto'ed card's- UGH :|

Happens with every product, every year.

Now, with the nation's economy as bad as it is, less people are breaking big amounts of product. For example, there have been very few bulk lots of Bowman Sterling autographs as compared to previous years. And based on the number of parallels most boxes are yielding, I would say that Topps cut back on production of this product a lot, as well.

Well, it does appear to be drying up on e-bay. But thats not to say the product itself is drying up, just the volume being sold. It could very well be a lack of demand that is causing a decline of sales, as well as thoes who are holding out for more profit than the current market is giving to RAZOR products.

I personally believe it's the spirialing lack of demand that is causing less to be offered in hopes that a later date will provide more value. But in no way do I believe demand has outgrown supply thus far.
