The product looks decent and the guy seems to be working hard at making it what collectors want. I just don't get it.

As long as he's got a business license, he's legit.
I'd think people would be happy that someone took a different route since MLB pretty much kicked Donruss to the curb... among other things they've done with their licensing.
I own three Razor cards, Sawyer Carroll base, blue #08/25 and autograph #693/699.
I bought the blue from FCB user Brett Keith via ebay... he threw in the base and a Donruss EEE Carroll. I prefer the Razor design between them.

All they are is competition for Donruss who is now producing minor league product.
If they want the competition with Upper Deck or Topps, get an MLB license.

Mahoody said:Well the problem with this is that the license is unattainable. The current structure and that mentality allows topps and UD to become complacent. It has allowed them to produce crap and it still sell and they still make money. :? :? :? :?
This I just don't get..... :?: :?:
If you don't buy their crap (distributors, store owners & customers) eventually these card companies will have to change their way of thinking or they will go under. And in today's economy that is a very, very likely scenario
And arising from the ashes of these unwilling to adapt card companies -will be companies who will listen to the voices of the marketplace and thrive from doing so........![]()

It's your money... you worked hard for it....don't waste it on crap because there's nothing else out there

People that buy baseball cards are going to buy baseball cards. Those that only buy mlb licenced baseball cards have a limited pool of cards to pick from. Topps does not have to be great, they just have to be better than UD because of this (and vice versa). With neither company challenges the other, the product becomes stagnant. When product is stagnant, people buy it anyway for some weird reason. I was so proud when people didn't buy 08 chrome. Not because it hurt topps, but because I thought maybe it would make them produce a better product.
