opened 3 boxes of this stuff today. while i didn't hit the mantle i was fairly happy with what i did get. all of them were older cards and look nice encased.

1939 Play Ball Charles Gehringer PSA 7

1950 Bowman Lou Boudreau PSA 7

1962 Topps Willie Mays PSA 7

not any real home runs but atleast i've heard of these guys.

hardnosed kid
actually, I think it was Lou's brother's grandson but didn't want to figure out the correct relation word there :?
He actually was a very very good golfer

Cool that it = a Mays
Bummer that it was the all star card
that one books somewhere under $100

actually, as I read more and more threads and comments, I think Razor has a goldmine here. If people feel you can't go wrong with a vinatge Mays, they must not realize that some vintage still are $50 cards especially if they are the all star, hr leaders, etc (unless they get PSA 8, 9)

maybe so but it's not always about the money like you keep eluding to. i opened the product because i wanted a shot at the mantle, not to resell the cards and lose money. it's like the stock market. you don't lose if you don't sell. luckily, i'm in a position that i don't have to sell my cards that i pull to pay for the boxes. you'd be surpised at what i don't sell. i don't open cards looking for a profit or to make a profit. i open boxes of cards because i enjoy collecting cards there for i was happy with what i pulled.

the above quote shows why this is a great idea by Razor
people see hall of Famer or vintage/old card and assume it must be in the several hundred dollars
a quick run over to ebay shows otherwise

which 2 of the 3 will get over $230?
keep in mind it's the Mays AS and not the base card
BIN on ebay ----- PSA 8 = 205, 180, 178, PSA 7 $80, 60

no PSA 7 of Boudreau to compare but a PSA 6 can be had for around 60

NIG difference once these vintage hits PSA 8 so cannot compare PSA 8 to a PSA 7
(same thing with comparing 8s with 9s)

nothing wrong if people buying for the love of it (ie mburgin) or for the "rush" but when I see comments like the above (that 2 of the 3 will pay for the packs) it drives me nuts

I was thinking that the 1950 Bowman Lou Boudreau PSA 7 (its his RC?) would pull about a packs price and the 1939 Play Ball Charles Gehringer PSA 7 a bit more then pack price

but since there are no completed it hard to guess

That's not Lou B's RC
He has a 49 Bowman
His 49 Bowman RC books around 80 but that's from an OLD OLD beckett from March 2009
I would think a 49 RC would be more than 80 but then again, price guide value not as good as seeing the ebay value since that shows what some are really willing to pay

I don't really think you do understand. There is not one Razor break thread where someone posts their break and you go into the thread and **** on it.

You're relentless dude.

Just being helpful
Letting some know what completed auctions and BIN auctions are out there
Some are way off on perceived value based on the comments

The Gehringer sells for around $125 in that condition. The Boudreau averages $50-60. The Mays AS can be had for $40. These are all averages of the last 5 cards of each sold on ebay at auction.
