It blows my mind that people on this site keep buying his products...cannot even believe that members act cordially to him on here.

We in the collecting world have gotten used to getting screwed by companies, and this was no exception. Take a lickin and keep on tickin...

I think he's(BG) learning. I mean, look at Valiant. He's getting there. Slowly but surely.

Don't understand how they screwed you. Nothing is guaranteed in this hobby, except that new product will get more expensive.

I'm talking about the Sig Series/Metal/Prismatic/Base Metal crap that went on. I wasn't as heavily invested in Sig Series as Jim, or others on here, but the Metal release definitely affected my sales of regular guys in Sig Series. The Metal release was not known when Sig Series came out, and it would have steered many people away from buying it had they known Metal would be "released".

I know nothing is guaranteed, but common sense applies in this situation. A higher end release of the (almost) same exact checklist about a month/two later (I'm pretty sure that was the time frame) of Sig Series is going to decrease prices. High volume breakers/hoarders/collectors were no aware of this release when they originally bought cards of the guys in Sig Series.

For those that are pissing on Razor/Leaf.. keep pissing..

Nothing like buying a few boxes for $200 or so and selling 2 cards out of those boxes for $1800 and then sitting on the rest knowing that when you sell them, you are already ahead..

I think this has more to do with Tim Beckham sucking as a baseball player than Razor cards sucking at holding value.

I guess that means Wieters, Alvarez, Lawrie, all suck then too? I agree Beckham has sucked, but the aforementioned guys sell for MUCH less than what they debuted at, and they have not exactly sucked it up.

Every dog has its day...

For the record, I own a few Leaf cards, and I think that BG has done a decent job with his last couple products, but that still doesnt erase the clusterXXXX that was 2008.

I think it's quite amusing how one example of something good happening is supposed to overshadow all the negative that occured.

Wait, so there is a Razor/Leaf connection? Sounds like I have missed out on a bit, either that or I completely forgot something...wow

So what. I was commenting more on the price realized for this Beckham card. He stinks, therefore his card prices stink. I couldn't care less about the other minutia you are going on about.

In all fairness this could probablly be said for many/most products year in and year out.

Honestly, I do not think that anyone disagrees that the RAZOR prospect card experiment was a flop on the secondary by and large. Yet, I do believe that they are a fine example how one can pick up for dirt cheap, autographed cards of future stars. This is only a negative to thoes who bought in high or care more about value than collecting. I know lots of collectors who dont mind at all picking up RAZOR auto cards of their players for a fraction of mainstream offerings. In the end an auto is an auto is an auto and if and when some of these players become MLB stars, these dirt cheap prices will rise even if only for the premis of getting a certified auto.

I do however think BG learned a great deal throughout this, and hopefully so did we.

If you didn't make money off of Lawrie Razor stuff, then that's your fault. I'm not defending the product, but it was like any prospect product. If the demand was there and you bought at the right time, you made money. How is XXXXXing about Tim Beckham Gold Metal stuff more or less valid/any different than people who got fleeced on Delmon Young BC Golds in 2003?

Im not complaining about not making money off Lawrie, because I did. Im also not XXXXXing about Tim Beckham...Ive never owned a single one of his cards. I was making an observation. I love how some people on here have absolutely no reading comprehension.

I have no idea what this means. No one said these players suck. I would hope that you aren't implying that 2008 Razor Metal autos /50 of these players would sell for the $5 the Beckham sold for.

You guys really ought to let it go. You're XXXXXing about a product thats been out for a while now, was bg's first attempt at prospects, and is what it is. Brian has moved on to better things, why can't we?

My point is that, if you have a "horror Story" about this release, it's because you are a bad prospector, not because the cards were or weren't something.
