My point is that, if you have a "horror Story" about this release, it's because you are a bad prospector, not because the cards were or weren't something.

Fair point, but I think that the two things aren't mutually exclusive. The better the product, the easier it is to make cash. The worse the product, the tougher it is.

I dont have a "horror story".maybe you can talk to Wes Yee, who has been entirely quiet on this subject, but invested quote a bit into beckham....

I think its awesome the people defending razor/bad prospectors are coming out of the woodwork. Yall are the ones investing in Montero and Laporta :)

Id love to see your profits...

Agreed, I call bull XXXX.

Saying that, I did buy a quarter of Westmoreland Gold Autos and could have doubled my investment if I had sold before his brain surgery. So as some others have said there were some opportunities to make money, but they were few and very far between.

It seems to me like there are multiple issues here. When is comes to losing money on Razor, being a "bad prospector" certainly plays a role. As you highlighted, my investment in Beckham has not turned out well.

That said, it shouldn't be forgotten that the prices on Razor Signature singles dropped 60% in the two weeks following Metal's release. Beckhams were going for $50+ and dropped below $20 without any games being played.

As far as my own prospecting ventures, you'll always have winners and losers. For every Posey or Trout I've invested in, there's a Lars Anderson. The goal is just to end up with more hits than misses, and to learn from the misses.

Well a big problem is you guys are trying to make money on these products and in the end, while it's certainly possible, if you fail, it's always going to be your fault. I don't care if you do your prospect thing or not. You do it enough, you'll lose money.

So let's look at this way. You went in mega high on a brand new product from a brand new manufacturer. And be honest, the cards weren't that great looking. Nothing like his current releases. I mean, honestly, Valiant if awesome. So you lose out and get upset. Plus, the whole "exclusive" thing was never as cut and dry as it could have been. Point is, this product at best was nothing more than a press pass/tristar/just type of deal. For all sports, those cards tank eventually. Not always to an extreme. But they are non-licensed cards. And usually the first cards of said players. They are by no means, and have by no means, ever been the cream of the crop. The cards to go after. They just aren't. And you guys purchased, in some cases, an ass load of them. Hoping to make big bucks. So yeah, I'd say that you should have understood what this product was, and understood what it would eventually do.

Brian tried his hand at something and you are mad because you weren't able to make money off of it. I'm failing to see how that is Brian's fault. And he is certainly a step ahead of where he used to be. But I would imagine he's trying everything he can to show he can put out a quality product in hopes of landing a license. But never in the history of cards can you sit there and be mad because you can't make money off of them. It's not Brian Gray's job to put money in your pocket.

If it's relevant, I bought one single player...and a lot of him. Jordan Lyles.

And I made money, but the buy in was so low it didn't take much. But then again, I love dumpster diving.
