I am desperately trying to sell a card (Brett Gardner Gold Ref) and I've spent an incredibly tough hour and a half plus, trying to figure out this frustrating error message:

"Please provide the correct information in the highlighted fields:
Gallery Picture - A picture URL (Web address) cannot contain spaces."

It's giving me trouble about posting a picture. I upload the pic from PB, using the direct link, and the pic shows up in the perveiw. Then when I click continue it gives me this error message.

Photobucket fills in the spaces of a direct link with "20%" or something like that.

I've tried everything I could think of besides changing the name of the folder the card is in...

There are no spaces in a direct link... or an HTML code (which didn't work... which I knew it couldn't.)

I know they want the Direct link... so why won't it work?

There is no way people normally have to deal with this garbage.

If anyone can help that would be wonderful!

The problem is, I scanned this card with a super high dpi rate... so the image file is huge... and if I uploaded directly the image would be huge (I mean massive) as well. I was hoping I could work through photobucket so I didn't have to figure out how to resize the file on my computer. I usually just resize PB.

The problem is, that'll work for the description, but what about the Gallery pic?

sethyarkony: Unfortunately, when people have nicely listed cards for me in the past (this is my first time selling) the scans would show up huge... ebay didn't resize them. I now scan things with fewer dpi, but it's not the easiest proposition this rescan this card.

It worked!

Thanks. Although I would like to understand why I got that error message. And why I couldn't use the PB direct link nicely.

Don't know why Josh, but it seems eBay has been having some issues with picture, from photobucket lately
I know of others, from other sites have been saying the say thing.

PB direct uploading has been weird ever since Ebay changed formats for whatever reason. I used the direct link method in the past as well, but for whatever reason, I now have to actually open the image in PB (so its the only one showing) highlight it, right click and pull its properties and use the link given there instead of the direct link. Using an image in my PB the difference looks like this:

Direct link: http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee41 ... 09f48c.jpg
Full Property link (what works): http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee41 ... 1238385249

Hope this helps..

Maybe ebay is going to make a photo site that is the only way to put pics on ebay and charge fees for using? It would be in their nature atlesat.

Interesting. Thank you, that was quite helpful.

Hey PT,
Thanks for the heads up. Seems like ebay loves to exclude all sites/ methods not affiliated with them.
