Mentioned this in the weekend thread but this is for those who did not see it. You guys know I love Peyton so this is not a throw the guy under the bus thread fueled by preliminary hatred. A day later I am still irked:

After the success of cwells I figured I would send one of my favorite Manning UT themed cards to the Foundation in hopes of getting it signed. I talked to my wife and we decided to make a donation to the Foundation as well. We specifically said in the letter that the check is to stay with them regardless of if it is possible for Peyton to sign the card.

Today I received my SASE from the Foundation. It had my original card unsigned and an inserted trading card with a pre-printed sig. What really surprised me is that my check was returned to me as well. It was made out to the right group and signed. There were no errors with the check. I sent an e-mail to the Foundation asking if there was a reason they would not accept my donation. I'm hoping this was just a big communication breakdown of some form.

Is it wrong for me to feel insulted that I got my check back?

The person that opened the letter probably thought the check was for a signed card. Since they weren't able to get the card signed, they returned the check. No harm, no foul in my opinion. If you want to send the donation still, I'd send it without a card and just a donation only.

cwells probably sent his cards to Manning at the Colts complex and not to the foundation.

Chris apparently he signs through the football year and as long as he is still in Indy, I got my latest attempt returned yesterday as well with the pre-print. I am not sure why they keep some donations and not others. They cashed mine within a week and all was fine, not sure there is any rhyme or reason to it.

For the record I am not upset about getting the card returned unsigned. I am hoping it is a situation where someone opened the envelope, knew by the SASE that it was an autograph request and sent it all back without so much as looking at the letter with the instruction to keep the check regardless. Like I said I sent them an e-mail asking if there was a reason they sent the check back despite the fact that the letter said to keep it regardless. If they want the check they can certainly have it. If they do not want our money my wife and I agreed to send it to the charity of choice of Tom Brady.

You should do that, the Foundation for Long Haired ********** is in dire need of financial aid.

Whether you like him or not, any celebrity that takes the time to help those that are in need are a-ok in my book.
