Against the Yankees.

I don't like his defense enough to be a full time player...did you watch him at SS/3B last season? Not to mention the only way Iglesias is going to learn how to handle ML pitching is if he gets playing time. He's still raw with the bat but if he bulks up a bit during the offseason and goes to the batting cages everyday he might figure it out. Granted I don't ever see him hitting .300 but a respectable .250 with an Ozzie Smith glove is perfectly fine at the #9 spot.

he could hit .075 and I'd take it so long as the rest of the lineup is stacked

Agreed. SS should be the least of our concerns....everyone needs to remember that Nomar was a once and a generation talent offensively at SS and we need to make do with what we have.

Agreed. SS is one of the three positions where I'm more concerned with their play in the field than I am with their offense.

I think Iglesias needs to be just given the job based on his D, then he can relax at the plate, knowing he's not under any pressure to win the job with his bat. When a mediocre hitter puts pressure on himself like that, it often backfires completely. I say let the kid play and then start counting how many times he makes the highlight reel each month. His hands are simply off-the-charts unbelievable. There are very few guys I'd pay to go see play nowadays, but Iglesias is one. I have tremendous respect for that kind of talent and skill level. Also, having a real superstar defender on the field pumps everyone up and changes the entire attitude and outlook of the team. Therefore, LET THE KID PLAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well put. Hopefully Ben C/Farrell feel the same way.

You got any nice Iglesias 2010 Bowman cards/autos? I only have some refractors (orange /25, blue /250, 2 purple /999, and a ref /777 which just graded 9.5); I had two gold refs but sold them, and several autos at one point.

Here's my orange:

and the 9.5 unslabbed ref:

We don't need nomar type numbers but .280 10 60 45sb shouldn't be a pipe dream.

An all defensive SS is fine with me if we get some production from catcher, 3b, lf, rf, and 1b..
