13 games into the season and people counting the R-Sox out already?

You all should know better than that by now.

Most seasons I would agree with you, but something about this whole offseason/spring training seemed off. I can't put my finger on it, and I hope I'm wrong, but it's similar to how I felt about 2006...

Looking at my sig will tell you who I root for (and obviously who I cant stand) but you have to be real here, its the second week of the season.

No way am I declaring the sox done, no way. There was a lot of talk on here about how much their stellar defense will carry them but the nation is waiting for that to kick in. If you cant hit, you wont win, gold glovers or not.

a forehead south of your moms belly button
you can be a fan and be realistic. the rays played balls to the wall these last 4 games. the sox have no power and their defense is no where near where it should be. like i have said several times if you are counting on scutaro, cameron, beltre, and heremida to make you better you have already lost. the bay departure and lack of anything that nears a bat to fear is going to cost us dearly down the stretch! there may not be a 30hr 100rbi guy on the sox this year.

this team reminds me of the 88 team lots of hype and hub bub but no real fire making all the smoke.

After winning 2 titles in 4 years( I never thought I'd see one, I'd been waiting since '75) I can take anything. All the ups and downs and tough losses (especially the post season)used to almost literally make me crazy and drove me to many weird superstitions while a game was on etc. It made it hard to live a regular life! But now everything is totally different( and maybe it will too for Cubs fans eventually). Those dark days and images..Dent, Buckner, Grady Little patting Pedros shoulder, Boone etc., are long gone and are replaced by Schillings bloody sock, Dave Roberts steal,Damons game 7 grand slam,4 straight wins vs NY, never trailing the Cardinals,"Ground ball stabbed by Foulke!"....And ANOTHER World Series title a few years later?! All I asked for was one, and we got another one. This current stuff , hey we'll get better..

RED SOX NATION still lives, just wait until "we" (my 2nd favorite team) scores 10 runs per game for a 10 game stretch. We really need Ellsbury back. Call up Reddick now!!!!

The one stupid thing about "Red Sox Nation" is that it's a blatant rip-off of Raider Nation and the Boston fans couldn't think of anything original. Other than that it is too early to count them out but with the lack of pop in the lineup I don't view them as much of a threat. I remember when they signed Beltre and the only fools who thought it was a great signing were the Boston homers.

A Laker fan referring to Red Sox fans as stupid and "homers". ::facepalm::

Actually I'm a Los Angeles fan and love all their teams, not a bandwagon fan of the Lakers. I've loved all their teams starting from the Rams when I was 6, some 37 years ago. Well that is except for USC, don't really care for them.

Actually, the stupid thing about "Red Sox Nation" (or Raiders Nation or Leafs Nation et al.) is the entire concept, not to mention the fact that these teams somehow hornswoggle people into paying for a membership into said 'nation'. The whole things is pathetic.

I'm a Red Sox fan, have been my whole life. I'm not one that's going to go around knocking another team or their fanbase. Well, I will knock on a fan if they go around asking for it.

I figure if someone wants to talk about the Red Sox in a negative manner, it likely means that there is absolutely nothing worth talking about with their favorite team. I can't fathom another reason why someone would spend their free time trying to knock on someone or their favorite team.
