I do think Adam profiled much better in Fenway than in he had in Pittsburgh. He was brought in in hopes of taking advantage of the short left in PNC Park. He's not a dead pull hitter, so the huge center and left fields hurt his numbers while in Pittsburgh, I think.

This deal confuses me, unless the Sox plan on flipping Kotchman in a later deal.

Exactly, I think he would have hit very well the rest of the season for the Sox...

LaROche is a historically great second half player. Trading him for Kotchman at this ponit of the season does not make sense for 2009

You liked a week of LaRoche. Trust me, over the course of a full season, you would be ready to pull your hair out. He's either red hot or ice cold, no in between. And usually far more of the latter than the former.

Makes no sense for the Braves unless they are doing another deal.

This deal makes no sense for the Braves, Kotchman is cheaper and has a longer contract.

honestly, i think sox fans are nuts for not liking this deal. kotchman is a very solid hitter and his #s should only improve in beantown. let's hope so anyway :lol:
