I thought it would be a fun idea to see how others would redraft 2009's MLB draft...

Submit your top 10.

This is mine:
Stephen Strasburg
Mike Trout
Wil Myers
Dustin Ackley
Jacob Turner
Brandon Belt
Tyler Matzek
Kyle Gibson
Mike Minor
Mike Leake
Matt Purke

Myers would have been that high if he didn't have such a strong commitment to college ball.

How well was he known to prospectors at the time of the draft??

Like any comparisons to this years draft recognition wise?

Shelby Miller would be ahead of Matzek and Gibson for sure.

I'd still take Gibson as first pitcher after Strasburg, especially since he is healthy and that was only reason he slipped in draft.

Scouting Report: Myers is a jack-of-all-trades, although his most likely pro future is as a catcher. He's a great athlete who has suited up around the diamond, including a good chunk of time at third base, but who can also play short and pitch. His build is that of a typical third baseman, and he might outgrow catching, but he's good enough back there - with good energy and a plus arm - that whoever drafts him is almost certain to try him behind the plate. As a hitter, he has an explosive bat, accelerating his wrists late and generating hard contact with excellent plate coverage inside and away. He has a slight leak that is minimized by a short stride, but his wrists are quick enough that he can compensate for it against mediocre high school pitching.

All I could find but I remember hearing something about him being higher on some other forum..
