I personally don't see Todd staying as a reliever. He tops out at 90mph. I'd guess he'll finish the year in the pen and the Indians will let him start next year.

Jess Todd should be a starter and if the Cardinals would have left him alone he could have easily taken Smellemeyer's place in the rotation...

Cardinals really don't care anything about the next 5 years...guess they are going to try and win it all this year. Being from STL this bloodletting of the farm system just makes me ill.

Pujols will be 34 then, and ownership understands that. They're being aggresive, yes, but they've also greatly increased the odds of winning this year. We have to win now, there's no more "keep building for the future" mentality. If we can lock up Holliday, and of course, lock up Pujols, we'll have a fantastic lineup for the next 5 years.
