Ok, well maybe its not as much of a report as it is a way for me to get the stench of a show out of my clothes and system. I have never been to such a disorganized pile of crap in all of my life. I guess its a sign of the times or perhaps its the fact that everyone was too busy preparing for AFC/NFC Championship weekend to allow them to set up for a show. I went looking for stuff for alot of you guys on here as I always try to keep an eye out for your wantlists. Well, let me just say, unless you love the Carolina Panthers, Carolina Hurricanes, or a ton of common cards, there wasn't much to be had.

My highlights from the show were that I saw only ONE Dustin Ackley Elite Series Base Auto. No Chapman, no other big names, nothing. I did see a handful of Michael Jordan autos from the commemorative set that UD did a while back and the original 98 UD jersey auto Jordan. The guy wanted a TON for these. There was some decent vintage at the show. 200lbhockeyplayer(Mike) could probably tell you a little more about it as he checked it out more than me. I did see some doofus that had a Mark Sanchez Leaf Certified patch/auto insert for 500 bucks. I had a good chuckle about that.

Overall, prices were way too high. Many dealers had sticker prices about 2-3 times what typical sale values were. One guy I was talking to wanted 60 bucks for a ******* blue refractor auto. I just had to laugh. There was a really nice Rothlisberger/Romo/Manning/Manning quad auto at the show.

I was a little disappointed as I was hoping to pull off some trades for my want lists but it was not happening today. I did however pick up one card and I'll show it off. I will also show two cards that I recently got in a trade box from one of my buddies. LMK what you think.

Here's the two cards that came in a box I got in on trade:

Chapman Auto

Scan10335.jpg

Mitchell Red Status Auto(Ebay 1/1 ;) )

and my lone pickup from the show today

Scan10333.jpg

Mitchell Patch card Serial #'d 01/25

Overall a pretty disappointing day but atleast I got out and walked a bit which was nice. Gotta stay healthy! LOL

I went to the show as well. Very disappointing. A complete waste of money. Too many sellers with 1987 Barry Bonds...

I went to a show today also and there wasn't A SINGLE Elite card to be had. Once I walked around for the 3rd time, there was one guy who had then ripped a box. I feel your pain!

It was funny. The guy that had the Mitchell also had the Ackley. The only cards he had of Elite were from a hotbox he hit yesterday! LOL. The Ackley and Mitchell were in the box. He also had only a few BDP autos that were WAAAAAY overpriced. So yeah, I was kinda ticked that nobody had busted any of the EEE to try to pull the UNC boys.

Hey jhk, where ya from in NC?

I guess I could claim different parts... but I'm currently living in small town called Whitsett (between Burlington & G-boro) but I was driving up from my gf's parents... down in Troy this morning... I thought about making a detour to Raleigh... glad I didn't from what I hear. What parts are you from? I grew up in Person Co.... Roxboro most of my early childhood...

First off, the show was probably the weakest in a year. A few of the larger dealers didn't set up, and a lot of the "dime a dozen" dealers did. Apparently Saturday was better than today, but wow, if this is the future of the hobby...we're in bad shape.

I went looking for some 3x5s and a few 1934 Goudey set fillers...I left with this...

1989 Topps Mike Henneman / Keith Atherton wrong back
Buck Leonard Metal HOF Plaque card

All told it was a whopping $25.

Nothing huge, but for the price, it's tough to beat dumpster diving like this.

Whisett!!!!!!! One of my good friends lives in Whitsett! I grew up in McLeansville! Just off 85/40! I now live down in the eastern part of the state about 15 minutes from Greenville in the City of Washington.

Its funny. I was at a party at ECU a handful of years ago. There was a guy dressed kinda like Freddy Krueger and was kinda scarin the ladies at the party. So I was elected to go out and talk to him to see what his deal was. Turns out, it was my cousin from McLeansville! LOL He told me he was from there and I said I used to live there and then he asked me where I used to live and he told me that he lived on the same road. After a second we realized we were related! LOL.

Oh yeah, I'll be back. I may try to make the Easter show. Hopefully I'll see ya there. Keep in touch.

Brian, when you say a ton for the original 98 jersey auto Jordan, how much is that exactly? I saw one of these sell on ebay for 15k+ sometime last year.

The guy wanted 8k for it. Atleast that is what he quoted me.
