Ok, well maybe its not as much of a report as it is a way for me to get the stench of a show out of my clothes and system. I have never been to such a disorganized pile of crap in all of my life. I guess its a sign of the times or perhaps its the fact that everyone was too busy preparing for AFC/NFC Championship weekend to allow them to set up for a show. I went looking for stuff for alot of you guys on here as I always try to keep an eye out for your wantlists. Well, let me just say, unless you love the Carolina Panthers, Carolina Hurricanes, or a ton of common cards, there wasn't much to be had.
My highlights from the show were that I saw only ONE Dustin Ackley Elite Series Base Auto. No Chapman, no other big names, nothing. I did see a handful of Michael Jordan autos from the commemorative set that UD did a while back and the original 98 UD jersey auto Jordan. The guy wanted a TON for these. There was some decent vintage at the show. 200lbhockeyplayer(Mike) could probably tell you a little more about it as he checked it out more than me. I did see some doofus that had a Mark Sanchez Leaf Certified patch/auto insert for 500 bucks. I had a good chuckle about that.
Overall, prices were way too high. Many dealers had sticker prices about 2-3 times what typical sale values were. One guy I was talking to wanted 60 bucks for a ******* blue refractor auto. I just had to laugh. There was a really nice Rothlisberger/Romo/Manning/Manning quad auto at the show.
I was a little disappointed as I was hoping to pull off some trades for my want lists but it was not happening today. I did however pick up one card and I'll show it off. I will also show two cards that I recently got in a trade box from one of my buddies. LMK what you think.
Here's the two cards that came in a box I got in on trade:
Chapman Auto
Mitchell Red Status Auto(Ebay 1/1
)
and my lone pickup from the show today
Mitchell Patch card Serial #'d 01/25
Overall a pretty disappointing day but atleast I got out and walked a bit which was nice. Gotta stay healthy! LOL
