The number of pitches is much more important than the number of innings. For a 20-year old rookie, I'm really impressed with his composure. After getting dinged for 6 HRs in his first 4 starts, Porcello has not given up any in his last 4 starts.

I think that if Willis pitches effectively, the Tigers will ease Bonderman back very slowly. If everyone is pitching well, I think they will skip Porcello turn a few times in July/August to limit his workload. My stat guess would be 14-6 with a sub 4.00 ERA and top 3 for ROY.

This sounds very feasible, although I think he'll end up with over 15 wins, simply because of the way he has been pitching lately (he has come a long way since his first start of the year both with his offspeed pitches and as a pitcher in general) and because of the way the Tigers are playing lately.

And you bring up another interesting point...if the season ended today, he would be my pick for AL ROY.

I'm now really excited to watch his next start to see if he can keep his win streak going

The only reason I wouldn't say 16 or 17 wins is that I'm expecting a short rough patch when teams see him for the second or third time. Advance scouts will find something, but he's good enough that he should be able to adjust.
