Is there anything on the back of that Mercury Mets jersey? Did they wear that while Rickey was a Met? Did he wear one? Do you only get jerseys that he actually wore? I mean.... I know the M's did a crazy future jersey, but Rickey couldn't have been on both teams. Would you get an M's future jersey?

I feel like a 3 year old. I have a lot of questions.

I see why Ryan likes the picture, it was taken on the 24th! ;)

The Mercury Mets jersey is not lettered yet. I have to find the font used, not easy. Rickey did wear it for one game, July 27, 1999 against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Only time the Mets ever wore it. He did not wear the Mariners jersey. The jerseys I own are only ones that he would have worn, made by the same manufacturer. Rawlings made the A's ones in the early 90's, then Russell. I have all authentic patches as well. Only ones that aren't on field authentics are the Yankees or Jays. Rawlings made authentic jerseys, but Wilson was the maker for them. Only way to get Wilson Yankee or jays jersey was a team issued one. I am very anal about the jerseys, only buy certain ones.

This is actually my avatar photo. Met Bill Greenblatt from United Press Intl. at Cooperstown and he took these photos. Me, Kristin (fiance), my mom and dad all wearing my jerseys.

Good stuff! I kinda figured you would only have the Mets or M's future jersey, and since it was the Mets I presumed Rickey played for them at the time the game was played. Just one game. I thought it was an awesome idea, and wish they did more stuff like that...

I wonder if Rickey ever wore a camo Padres jersey? Anyway, that is an incredible collection of Rickey jerseys. Manomanoman.

I noticed that too, Christmas Eve! Looks like it's dark out... must have been really close to Rickey's birthday! Which reminds me... anybody have a broken Rickey bobble head?

So I was thinking about a couple things last night. One of which I mentioned a few days ago, but it may have been overlooked due to all my PhotoBucket *******. Is anyone interested in either a Excell spreadsheet (I can do) or Access database (I don't know Access) to track serial numbered/memorbilia cards? The pupose of this is simply to see who has what cards and what numbers they are. Would also help to see who needs what and if someone else has a double or comes across another, they could help somone else fill their want list. I'm pretty good with Excell and would do this if anybody else wants to participate. If I knew more about Access I would try that since we could show front and backs of cards and such (think DVDProfiler) for anyone that is familiar with that.

The other thing, anyone hear much from Tom Anderson (Traplus145 on eBay). I think he's in Rhode Island. I've bought and traded with him in the past. I remember when I graduated high school he sent me a huge box of stuff and told me to keep anything I needed and send back anything I didn't. I think I got roughly 50 or so cards, some of which I had never even heard of it. Also used to trade with Mike Stanley (XSteamerX) and John Peligrino (4040Man). Haven't heard much from either in awhile and didn't know if anyone else dealt with them or not? I know John is hard to haggle down, and he asks higher value for his cards.

People I've dealt with:
Tal - bought from
Larry - bought from
Robe (even though not here) traded and bought from
Mike Stanley - traded/bought from
John - traded/bought
Tom - traded/bought
I think I might have bought from RJew a couple of times too.....anyone hear from him? Anyone else I missed?

No mention of your friend and mine, Larry's dearest friend, a friend to all of us? DICK JENSEN!!

w00t!!

I have spoken with RJew a few times, and I didn't mind him. I don't think he has many fans here for some reason. Hopefully it isn't because of his dirty hoarding habit.

Tom Anderson is quite a guy. I have invited him to join us at least 3 times. He claims that he doesn't know anything about computers and doesn't want to try. I'm good with computers, and I have trouble listing things on ebay. Tom has no problem doing that. I know he could figure out a simple message board! Anyway... way way back, 2002 I'm guessing, he ran a whoooole crapload of awesome Rickey auctions. I didn't win any. :D What a great story. Anyway, I asked if he would sell the ones that got no bids, and he did, and I got a huge lot of awesome cards. He also included a whole collection of other players' cards featuring Rickey, which was awesome. And once he won a 24 card on ebay... I wrote and explained that I wanted to win but failed to bid, and he traded it right to me. What a guy! I've always liked Tom.

I know John is hard to haggle down

Yeah. Well put. He has some older 24s. Of course, with the recent popularity in #'d 90's inserts, he could probably put them on ebay and actually get the $50 each he is looking for.

XSteamerX rings quite a bell, from the ebay days of old I guess.

Who is the Happy Hendersonmas guy?

Oh yeah, and I keep neglecting to respond to the excel question. I would not benefit personally, but I'm in a different position. I haven't really been adding to the Rickey collection outside of the jersey # section, and I don't have the time to even keep my simple Word wantlists/havelists up to date.

If you guys did it though, I would be more than happy to scour through your serial #'d cards looking for things to catch my eye. 8-)

Yeah, I remember DickJen as well. Another question I had....who all went to Cooperstown in 09? I wanted to plan a meet up and everything, but I failed to do so.

I was there with George Chernisky (rickeyrules-ebay). We met up with Brad there. It was a fun time, but I wish I had more cash and I wish Dave (RH35 -ebay) could have been there with us.

Yeah, I wanted to have one of my bats signed, but they were pricey. I got one of the Induction bats, and the Rickey bat. I'll get one signed sometime.

I planned for ~ 10 years to be at the induction. Then I got this girl knocked up. We went to the doctor. He was like "Hey Ryan, you have any plans?" And I was like "Yeah, I been planning to go to NY on July 26 for like 10 years." And he was like "OK, well, the baby is due... ummm.... July 27th."

Thanks doc.

She wasn't born until 7/30... plenty of time, right? I totally should have gone...

I also was called on during the trivia game for those of you that went to the Red Carpet event. My question was about who was the only woman inducted in the HOF.

On Sunday I wore.....

I'm way behind (I can't wait for school to be over next week!), but I do want to answer a few questions. While the Excel sheet of collectors would be pretty cool, I don't know if I'd have time to go through and look at all of my serial numbers, as I don't have them entered on my checklist. But, I do always think trade lists are a good idea :)

I was definitely at the inducted, and as mentioned earlier, got to meet up with Ken and George. I do remember the HOF question, but I couldn't tell you who answered it. You probably saw me around as well, as I was the crazy guy running around with the camera, lol! If any of you bought the HOF DVD, you can actually see me in the background a couple of times, which I thought was pretty cool!

Here's a few random shots I had available (since I was so excited about getting to take pictures, I didn't really think to have someone get any with me actually in them!)

I wanted to share my latest deal with everyone, as I know you guys will appreciate it (my 2-year-old just doesn't understand, lol). Picked this up for $6 via BIN, which I thought was a steal. I know one sold a few months ago, and I don't remember the final price, but it was definitely more than $6 bucks :)
